View Full Version : Carrottus Days

A Hotel hybrid set on Jazz's home planet, Carrottus. Unlike most other hotels, this one doesn't use concept of collecting coins by running around the map. It is based on jobs, including jobs that really keep the level running, such as a shop clerc, for example. Since there will be no coins, dying is a lot less of a factor to fear. There is much more involved, though it's unnecessary to tell at this time.

Ragnarok and I are in charge. We need some tile-set editors and artists to help complete the set. No one really skilled is needed. We need a few people who know what they are doing. We tell our plans, and you help us with the set. It shouldn't be a difficult task, even considering others would be helping as well.

If you are interested in helping with the set: please provide us with a little proof you are motivated and know your stuff.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that those who help will receive certain benefits

Define "Know your stuff", like should I send a resume in the form of pixelated art I've done or something?

Anyways, the hotel concept sounds good, I'll play the level for sure.

A picture of something you've drawn would be appreciated.

Keep it jj2 related, please.

I would like to help build the level, if possible.

Also, really neat idea. I secretly love hotels (except if they're done really badly), and I would be honored if I could help.

I'm very interested in that hotel idea. Too bad I never did anything with tilesets...

What sort of stuff would be done with tileset editing?

Editing is more about dealing with tiles already available. For example, look at Blur's tile-set edits to get a good idea of what I am talking about. Another reason for this is because I know I am not going to get many artists, but I knew this option would be more attractive, plus it would make the progress faster.

Well, I can do tile arranging, but I dunno about like tinting and stuff. I guess I can pick up GraphicsGale or Painter25 and fool with those to see what I can do, but for now i'll pass. If you need a third person to do that, though, contact me.

Maybe 1 more artist is needed, but I think we have a team. All plans etc will be available this weekend.

Images are in order of recentness, first being earliest and last being latest.
Also, that's about 4 out of 50+, it was hard to choose.

This is what I wanted to make, but it will actually be made by someone who follows through with their ideas. Hooray!

Sounds interesting. If you still need an artist, I could pitch in. Here (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=3003) is my latest tileset work, which is probably the most indicative of my art style out of all the pixel art I have on the web currently.
