Yeah, well. I found out something about non-exiting JJ2 sprites.

Actually, it all started, when I tried downloading 1.25h(?) and installing it. It gave me erros, and said, I should install JJ2 again. So, I spent 1 hour trying to find JJ2: But, I have lost my CD :( So.. I Gone.. and downloadet Warez.... First time In my life. but, the version I got, was somelike odd. It was 1.00g

1.00g is something like beta of JJ2, but it was sold on CD. Its menu graphics are badder than in 1.23, and it does NOT have an internet game (No CTF). And no JCS either. BUT, it haves something that JJ2 1.20 never had. thou, Im too lazy to find all things out, I have not completed the game. And, in game, there is no sugar rush music, or boss music. Somewhy, all the levels are in .LEV files, like in JJ1, and musics are in .s3m files. 1.00g Haves also differend music for colony level 2! It also haves pretty special gun8 and gun9. Take a look. (you know it from hoaxes)

Castle.s3m - Jazz Castle
Colon2.s3m - Medivo -NOTE! This is music for colonys level 2! Not for medivo! This music also Was not includet in 1.20!

EDIT2: Nevermind. SNZ said, this is something so old worth of deleding.
ECIT3: And could someone tell me, is the colon2 somethink like warez, or can I freely use it in my levels?

1.00h is rare. You owning 1.00h is strange. 1.00g is so common is hilarious.

I suddenly have an idea. I re-read the article UR linked and saw that Lark wrote "I couldn't see if things like the Tweedle boss worked because there's no JCS."

... *cracks open ye olde hex editor*

At the time period 1.00g/h were developed, Bolly wasn't fully functionable, so I'm pretty sure Tweedle wasn't even began back then.

I've got a few question, and sorry if it's already discussed before:
Which version of JJ2 contains those climbing monkeys, because I'm remeber that I've been read something like this before. The another one is, that sprite ripper program works with 1.00? Just because maybe there are some more interesting sprites we didn't seen yet. And what's the difference beetwen 1.00h & 1.00g versions

I admit beforehand that I have no idea about any of this, but he said that the format of the levels was .LEV, "like in JJ1"... I don't suppose they can somehow be opened with the JCS'94, can they?

Has anybody tried and changed the format from .LEV to .j2l?

JJ1 levels are not .lev format. Instead, they begin with 'level' and have numbers depending on the world and the order of the level. Level0.001 is the first one for Diamondus, level0.002 is the second one for Diamondus, etc. The first number is the world, and consequent numbers after the full stop is the level number.

Has anybody tried and changed the format from .LEV to .j2l?
Why would we? The .LEV files are massively bigger and contain the graphics as well as the tile layouts. Even different versions of .j2l files are incompatible with one another.
