View Full Version : Anyone interested in jazzjackrabbit.net for a Website?

Many of you may have known jazzjackrabbit.net in the past as the place to go to find the Games in Progress currently on the list server Network. Now due to Digiex being more open with its resources and opening the GIP Script up so it can be used on any site, the very reason of the existence of the web site on jazzjackrabbit.net is no longer required.

It's for this reason, I see no point the site on there at present staying, its outdated, old, and worthless. If anyone is interested in using the domain for there website, It can be arranged. I would only offer it if the person(s) wanting it were serious. Perhaps it could be used for the 1.25 Project, or some information site? Who knows.

I personally have no interest in making a site for it, I'm not really into JJ2 anymore. So if no one offers I shall just delete the website and forward any requests to the domain to jazz2online.com.

Anyone interested?

I might be interested, but I'm not sure how long it would take before I'd be ready to use it. Would there be some sort of preferred timeframe?

I think he wants it gone ASAP, but he'd be willing to let it sit and moulder for a while, just so long as it gets used.

Since I'm currently attempting to create a website that is more communiuty related and could be found more attractive than J2O for the more active players (clan, player and tournament related news, intrerviews, featured files, strategy guides and more...), it would be very appreciated if you could let me use that domain.

Oh, and by the way, if you want to become a designer, coder, content editor, interviewer, news writer or just share your ideas, feel free to send me a PM.

I'll take it and link it to the 1.25 page on Foo Products, but there are probably more practical uses for it.

I'm not overall bothered about the timescale, I can just put a placeholder on there until a new site is ready for it.

I guess what I'll do seems theres quite a few with different ideas is give people say a week or so to come forward with an offer, then pick the one that seems best inregards to community and game.

There could always be a compromise. A group effort might be the best way to go.

I'm always looking for mirrors for the betas, so you can go ahead and mirror 'em.

Maybe it could be used as more of a portal for the JJ2 community, unlike J2O which is aimed towards the game.

Then again, it might not be a good idea to divide what's left of the community into pieces like that, but it's an idea.

Mine idea is actually a group effort, and gonna involve lots of people.

"Gonna" as in "currently I'm the only one on the team but more will join in the future"?

I think people should have something substantial already made before Nimrod lets them use the address. That's just my opinion, though.

I think so, too. It's one of those addresses people looking for JJ info will quite likely visit, and having a "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" sign there for months isn't good I'd say.

R3ptile's idea seems interesting. It's about time we get a JJ2 site like that.

The difference is that that domain was DrJones' to start with.

As a temporary measure, why not make it redirect to the online play section of j2o?

I'm not going to do anything, by the way, since noone seems to be willing to help. Too bad.

hey guys Jam's idea sounds cool and all, but a 'gangsta' site sounds like a better idea.
EDIT- If you're wondering why I'm caring about the spelling is because, on a google image search 'gansta' brings up a bunch of posers. Apparently missing the 'g' makes a huge difference.

Grytolle

gansta > gangsta
If you want to asociate JJ2 with posers, fine with me.
