Well, I have Windows 2000, a modem, and I recently had JJ2 patched with UNKNOWNFILE's 1.25 patch up to 1.25e. Anyway, when I host my server, it does show up on GIP as 1.25, but no-body joins even when other servers (1.23) are up! Is there anything I can do or is it just that basically no-one else has UNKNOWNFILE's 1.25 patches?

Oh, and should I just use 1.23 otherwise?
-EDIT- And also, when I try to join a server, the 'Retreiving server list' process takes forever!

What? It's only been a day since you posted. It's not as if the denizens of the JCF are all sitting at their computers, constantly refreshing the technical support board, fingers poised over the keyboard to post the magic commands to make online play work. Cut us some slack.
Anyway, on to connection fixing. What is your internet connection? If you have a router, what make and model is it?

And, is this the first time you've ever had this problem, or have you been able to host before?

Ooooor most players only join 1.23 servers and not 1.25 servers. (PC4 has no option to version edit, which would be needed, so most people can't join)

First time since I got the patches.
Hang on, modem model is...
*grabs modem*
DSL-302G
It's an ADSL one, but I don't know much about connection except that we're with Optus.
But the maximum I've seen it go at is 384 kps.

Ok. Run "cmd.exe", and at the prompt type "ipconfig". Post the test that appears here.

Windows 2000 IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .: 58.104.1.132
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . . .: 58.104.1.132
But it doesn't take forever with 1.23 and TSF, that's what's so wierd.

Right, looking at that you should have no problems hosting JJ2 games as long as you allow them through your firewall (and if you don't have a firewall, then get one *now* - ZoneAlarm is a good free one).
You say you can host games fine with 1.23 and TSF, but not 1.25? In that case, you'll have to poke unknownfile to find out what he changed.

Unknownfile knows where he messed up, and should issue a patch.

You are using an oooooooooooooold version of the patch - there have been several NEW versions released. You can find them here (http://www.fooproducts.com/125patch.shtml). It's reccommended that you only use 1.25i, as the others are pretty much sux.
