Hi!

I realize that most of you are online-players, but anyway you must have played it as single player too... So I was wondering if you could help me, I'm stuck in a level called Medieval Knieval, and can't seem to find the exit. I've looked all over the place...

I distinctly remember having trouble with that level a long while playing co-op with a friend. Looking back on it, though, I can't see where I could have gotten stuck. You could always open it up in JCS and look, or tell us the specific part you're at.

Did you Go into Gargoyles Lair?
That place makes you unable to go to the next level.

Wow if I never played JJ2 I would've assumed you guys were playing some screwed up RPG game by reading this whole topic

Can you post a screenshot or description of where you are in the level? That would seem simpler than my posting the entire walkthrough for the level.
(First guess, do you know that some of the little tiny pillars sticking out of the ground function as warps?)

Well, I've been playing it in co-op (Party Mode) too... After the big swinging balls that hang on chains comes a place that only has two pillars, one of them is a teleport. The teleport seems to port me back to the beginning of the level. And that's about it. I've looked everywhere on the way to the teleport too, without any results. Tell me if you need a even more brief description...

The first pillar teleport should take you into a room with two pillars, and the teleport in that room should put you on top of an orange bridge. Is this the case? The orange bridge is above the starting area for the level, but is different, and continues to the end of the level somewhat directly.

Hm.

Dx, Gargoyle's Lair has itself as its next level setting.
(You don't know what you're talking about, do you?)

I went thru the first teleport, then the second. After that there is a short drop, an you'lle land on a - yes, a yellow bridge - but when I continue from that place I end up to the same teleports again... I took a few screenshots, in the first one I'm standing next to the second teleport, and in the other I'm just about to land after going thru it...

Oh, I see. How odd. That bridge is supposed to be quite a few tiles higher up than that, and actually leading to the next part of the level. At the moment I'm not thinking of what might have caused that to happen. What version of Jazz 2 do you have? It should say in the bottom left corner of the menu screen.

Sorry white rabbit.

How about quitting the single player?

It is version 1.009..

It is version 1.00g..That's your problem. The 1.00g is a somewhat early version of Jazz 2, and thus is likely to have such bugs, like the one with bridges appearing a few tiles down their actual spawning place.

Solution: get the version 1.20 (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/node.php?title=aboutBuying).

If the only difference in the level is the bridge, you should be able to make that jump from the bridge up onto the ledge (from the start, even). Try jumping off the other player's head while he's jumping, or get a running start and jump up onto the stone ledge above. I tried moving the bridge and jumping up and could do it fine.

I would have asked that earlier, but then I checked and saw that <strike>my copy of</strike> 1.00g doesn't even have that problem. Is there more than one version of g or something? Why? Doesn't that just confuse the issue?

(Unless your version really is "1.009", and not 1.00g, in which case DIBS.)

The level was working allright when I tried it on single player... Is there any way to update the free version that is downloaded from the classic gaming archive...

*sighs* We got another one...

In two words: no and no. The first "no" is that version 1.00g (or any other version below 1.20) can't be updated because of different coding, and the second "no" is that it's not freeware, it's illegal. Read this thread (http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=14296) for more info.

In short: Jazz2 is not abandonware, nor freeware, nor "any-other-kind-that's-free-to-spread"ware

Oh, I see it's a cooperative bug. Huh. Wonder what causes that.

(And, yeah, what JelZe said.)

I still say you could make that jump.
