View Full Version : Some random programs
All the programs I have made (www.a167.com/jj2files) (for JJ2) to this day. Don't expect too much and read the readme please.
Some of these programs are cheating tools. Do not provide links to them, please, or remove the programs that can be used for cheating like Jazzres (unfair advantage) and autorun
Removed all the ones that could be used for cheating.

:D there are some neat programs there like jazzcam.
I've just done a big update to TimeOut.exe- now you can specify an announce message and interval and the server will say in the chat something like "x seconds remaining".
*edit* another update- added the functionality to say how long is remaining in minutes as well as seconds

I don't see what's wrong with JazzRes. As far as I know, the program doesn't allow for resolutions higher than 640x480... so no way to cheat with it.
Can I add the link back in then? =(
For gods sake, autorun is just like caps lock except it doesn't make you write in capitals when you talk..

Since only one program has been explicitly forbidden, you can give links to the other ones. :p

How's that explicit? Besides, he named two programs.
My two cents? I don't think any of them are dangerous, especially if you consider that most of the community are already well-versed in memory editing and such. JazzRes cannot make larger resolutions, and autorun can be done with caps lock anyway.

All autorun really does is prevent some people from always using caps.

None of them, to be honest. I've tried most of them, and they only work for the host most of the time, too.

Well, if your the host i guess you might be able to use jazzcam for cheating purposes but, not really.

really, if you use jazzcam to cheat, whats the use of it? You get invisible and can see a small part of the level! nothing else can be done.. well, whatever... I like the programs and I fully allow Jam to link them on RRf (and now dont disallow me to link to RRf! XD)

Added a new program- "SupaChatSender.exe"- it can send any text on the JJ2 chat which is useful for copy and pasting things to send. Made on request for Kuba.

Actually the only thing I see that can be used to cheat is ChatKillStopper, just type "t" and you're invincible. Unfortunately I rather like it as I keep getting chat-killed in servers... >_>

It's also impossible to actually do anything in chat mode, unless you hold down the button corresponding to the action while pressing "t" (e.g. to shoot while typing, hold down fire while you press "t"). So it doesn't really matter.

But if you are, say, in the middle of a fight with one heart left, and press t while holding run + shooting and having the seekers selected, it's pretty unfair.
Then again it can indeed only be used for the server so I doubt whether it's a real problem.

Well, I dunno. How about if the server's got the flag and they decide they want to be invincible for a while? thats the only other thing I can think of that would make it cheating. Chat killers really get my goat though, expecially in games where there's an icon over your head to show you are chatting and some n00b kills you anyways.

People who need a chatroom, obviously.

Actually you can have a lot of fun in public servers. Roasting other people without a care if you get roasted is fun. And not many idle... and it's not like everyone new who joins should be good at the game.

mm.. I am also programming a game, its a "jazz" clone without jazz.. But it will be the fun platform-style ( not garanty a fun game ;) ).
The prob is that learning all the technieks will take plenty of time.. I mean a LOT. You can talk forever, but you will never see anything on paper.. Isn't it better to MAKE something, and IMPROVE later.. If you have a fully engine, that can load levels and has some kind of nature-rulez.. then is this post written, at least a year ago...
I think I get a little offtopic here...

What RRR:TLS is not:
* A JJ2 clone
* A JJ2 fan game
* A JJ2 anything
What it is:
* A commercial 2D sidescrolling online platformer which may interest the JJ2 community.

Rep, (-) off and get a life. Thanks.
Why, because he said he won't buy your game because it's made by a 12 year old and a 14 year old? I think he has every right to state his opinion, especially since I have no clue how two kids will be able to get a license.
You should not decide on buying or not till you've seen the quality of the game rep
I think that if a game is being made by a staff consisting of two kids, it's not going to be of very good quality. Granted, I'm not saying that it won't be a good game, I'm just saying that if it is, I'll be suprised.
