Aloha folks ;-)
It's me again, the German girl, and I've got a question (I know, surprise surprise  ):
Is it possible, it doesn't matter how, to play online with people who have got 1.23 if I have got 1.24? Is there a patch or anything like this? Or is it possible to turn 1.24 to 1.23 only if I'm playing online?
I was sure that there's a patch, but I didn't find it...
However, can you help me?

Yeah, that's right, but after I made the topic I realized that there could be other possibilities to play online with people who have got 1.23 if I have got 1.24, so I decided to open this topic.
I hope that's okay!

You can use this program called Project Controller 4. (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=1334) It has the ability to change the version just for multiplayer. Once you exit JJ2 the version will be reset. PC4 is an advanced server tool. It comes with an instruction manual in case you can't figure out how to use it.
Note: The animations may not be entirely correct so in multiplayer things may look a bit wierd. This is because 1.23 and 1.24 don't use the same version of anims.j2a (the file that stores the animations), meaning that they won't have all of the same animations(1.24 has all the animations from 1.23 plus more animations).

Joining 1.24 servers using 1.23 does not always work properly. This is due to the fact that 1.23 cannot use levels and tilesets made in 1.24 and therefore it will sometimes give players download errors. So remember not to host your 1.24 server as 1.23!
However joining 1.23 servers using 1.24 should work fine (except for the player animations). And hosting 1.23 as TSF also works fine since TSF fully supports the earlier version.
