Well this is odd! Why I can't upload animated GIFs? And why the avatar MUST be ONLY 48x48 pixels? WHY? I know there is a thread that you can't do these things. This is just extremely stupid. Well, I can't use avatars because of that. :(

First of all, there is an avatar discussion thread in Forum Rules. Second, you have to deal with the Forum Rules, period.

No, it should go here. Fourm rules is for stating rules and asking questions about rules. This is less a question and more of a statement of opinion.

They arn't animated because that makes them annyoing, also it makes them look less professional and they are larger file size.
They are 48x48 because it makes them all look uniforme and more proffesional, also large avatars are extremly annoying this also prevents people from just taking some stupid avatar they google up. In the first place avatars were objected to and most people didn't want them so I doubt they will get any bigger or any more annyoing.

Well, I can't use avatars because of that. :(You can still use avatars, just make one that conforms to the rules. That's what the good majority of us do.

I prefer them small, by the way. If they were larger I'd feel obliged to fill all that space, and I'm only good with small spritework.

Small avatars 4 teh win!
Low bandwith-friendly, not annoying, still enough space to show what's necessary.
