Player of the Year 2005 Nominations

Well, Wal asked for a proper one, so here it is.

Hey y'all! Hope you did good in 2005 because the PotY 2005 is here! That's Player of the Year 2005 folks, not the 2005th potty. Nominations decide who is in the running for crowning of Player of the Year `05, and guess what? They're public! There's only 4 rules.

1. Don't nominate yourself.
2. Nominate those who actually played well.
3. Don't double nominate.
4. Don't nominate those on the Accepted and Rejected lists.

When you nominate you must wait until we verify your nomination as ACCEPTED or REJECTED. If your nominee is ACCEPTED, they will go on the Nominated list. If your nominee is REJECTED, they go on the Nominees Rejected list.

The total nominees needed is 20. After we reach 20 nominees nominating will CLOSE.

Skull and FS were the best duellers, but since FS wasn't active enough, my vote goes to Skull. Gry and Veg were very good team players. Bobby, TS and Cell were simply not active enough to be nominated. There are few good other players, but those are the best ones.

I remember 2 years ago when the only really good players seemed to be FireSworD and DizZy (this was my impression back then when I started jj2), while today there are a lot more players that can beat any other player when having a lucky day atleast. Otherwise, what r3p said.

@Gry: I must agree that FS and DizZy used to be at least one level above all two years ago, but A LOT has changed since then.

Yes for example, yet there is no doubt that you could be beaten by a semi-awesome player if he has a good day and you don't.

Only if I'm in a really bad day, which also means playing sloppy with a huge amount of lag, without caring too much about the score untill it's too late. I could revenege quite easily after a while, though.

I've got no nominations, but why not just call it the player's choice awards, or something, as to avoid using a year.

And 15 nominations, in my opinion, are way too little. You don't have use the do the voting using a vBulletin poll, there are lots of other options available.

Awards held for a certain year are (usually) held in the year after. You can't nominate someone as best for a year that is barely halfway over. Duh.

Snooze? He either played really good and won me by a lot, or he played terrible and lost like 4 matches in a row to me ;P. Quite erratic, but he can reach very high difficulties in matches if he's on his good day or whatever, so I guess I'll mention him.

R3ptile? I'm always unlucky when facing him, but he is pretty good and wins me too >O. Definately deserves to be nominated.

FireSworD. Need I say more?

Skull. He was HARD. Definately deserves a nomination.

Veg. I don't remember how he played in 05 too well except for a few matches, but he seemed to be quite skilled back then too so I'm nominating him.

I really don't remember enough about Gry's playing skills since I barely had any matches with him (or just cant remember them) thus I don't know enough about him to nominate. I can't nominate myself that sucks gg :(. I might've forgotten some people but whatever.

seriously though, JDC is a combination of activity and skill. you could be the best player but if you dont have a lot of time then you wont rank very high in JDC.

and JJ2WC is a lot about luck too. some people get very easy groupings and proceed rather high up, while others get difficult opponents in the start and get out quick (I would know, I had to face Skull 1st round and veg 2nd ;P) and because you play so few matches, a good day, a laggy server or just pure luck can determine whether you make it or not, so its really hard to say who is the "best player"
