Well, as you can guess, I'm having JJ1 problems. TPPATCH won't work, and I don't know how the hell to get CPUKiller to work.
Any suggestions?

DOSBox doesn't seem to work either. Anyone?

You're probably doing something wrong then, since the only machine-specific thing about DOSBox is the speed. What's not working, exactly?

Don't worry, it took me a while to figure out DOSBox, it works.

It would help us a great deal if you tell us:
1) What you're doing to run it.
2) What is happening
3) Your system specs

JJ1 won't run on PC's with Windows above 98. Dos was reduced to a command line program when NT came in.

Actually, it's above ME, but no one really cares about that anyway.
And seeing as how I can run JJ1 on my Mac with DOSBox, I think you just misunderstand how it works. And if I recall, you were having computer trouble, as you stated in other threads, so it might be helpful if you told us about that as well.

I wasn't specifically having computer trouble, just my video card was very lacking.
1) Mounting the drive and typing in the adress of the application. Not working.
2) Nothing.
3) Windows XP Service Pack 2 (v. 2002), Radeon 9550 video card with 256MB, Pentium 4 CPU 2.40 GHz 2.41 GHz and 256MB RAM. Anything else?

Innocent, make things even easier on yourself and make a DOSBox shortcut. Then, drag it into your JJ1 folder. Just drag and drop the jj1 executable onto the shortcut, and presto, it works. If it doesn't work, something is hosed with your PC.

Are you typing 8.3 or LFN filenames and directories? DOSBox requires you to use 8.3, which would require you to shorten the name of the folder you were trying to access like so:
Instead of typing:
cd C:\Program Files\DOSBox065
You would type:
cd C:\PROGRA~1\DOSBOX~1
Of course, that implies that you already knew to use 'cd,' which I'm sure you did, right?

Yeah, but if you mount the JJ1 directory ("mount c:\games\jazz" for example) you wouldn't need to use cd at all. Just type "jazz".
