I've been having trouble finding music that fits my levels. Usually they suck or are too big or just don't fit in. I've downloaded around the 70 musics from ModArchive, but haven't found a right one. Does anyone have tips on finding what you want? What I look for: Kinda creepy, but something like Under Thine Spell (The Chasm) or War Machine (Helldome).

Just use an already used one. It only reduces the quality of the level if it uses the same tileset as another level using that music.

I don't tend to be so specific when picking out music. I find it easier to pick out music for levels thinking of a genre or keyword that fits in with the level. Since I don't think too specifically, it's easier for me to pick out music and find something that fits in.

Also, I select music early on in level making so I don't have to struggle with finding something that works at the very end. Instead it's easier to find music that fits the ideas/locales I want to incorperate in a level, and include whatever music I may choose early on as one of the elements to build the level around.

I've done that, but since I couldn't find one I already finished the level :(

@Minmay, problem is, it uses the same as another level...

Well, is it a different gametype? If it's the same gametype, two or three people will be screaming "OMG CLONE!1," but if it isn't, you should be safe.

If all else fails, use order.j2b.

I take a few keywords related to the level (such as the level name) and search for music files starting with that in my JJ2 folder. If they don't exist I look in the same alphabetical area. Eventually something sounds okay.

scenemusic.net has better search capabilities than modarchive.
