Greetings everyone.

When I wasn't that old, the first game I ever tried was this game and I remembered it as the years flew by. One thing I remembered in particular was the great background music on almost every level. So, severeal years later a friend of mine downloaded this magnificent game and gave it to me. I later learned that a website was to be found with not only downloads but also forums.

That is why I wan't to ask you, whether it is possible to achieve the songs from Jazz Jackrabbit 2? I have already searched the download section for music, but either the music is not the right one, or I can't open the files. I would greatly apprecieate any kind of help to what can give me the songs down on my computer.

Thanks in advance.

If you have the game, you have the music. The music files are seperate from the game application itself, just as are the levels and tilesets, so you already have them.

If you have the game, this might also help:

I'm a bit confused why nobody brought up the Jazz Music archive at
jazz.madskills.org. I mean, the fact I bring it up every single time someone asks this sort of question should etch it in everyone's brain by now.

But they are in .j2b format, which isn't exactly standard.

Two clicks and it leads to a page with mod formats...

Those are the Lori Central versions, which are unfinished, incomplete and whatnot. And even the OEM directory doesn't have all songs since they weren't all in the OEM. =P

Eh; I had them all converted to .s3m format some time ago; but why post them? Everyone else has them like that too, right?

The mac version has all of them in .it or .xm formats, so I never had to convert them.

Did you notice the two labrats? Or even click the link? Because I can't find something they missed.

Just to be sure, http://jazz.madskills.org/music/ has a big collection too.

Read the topic, Stijn. Already mentioned =P

@n00b: I went by the directory name since it says "LC," and previously it had the incomplete ones. I can't check now, but some of them might still be different from the finals. And Boss1 is missing.

What exactly is the difference between the new and old Jazz 3 castle songs?

IIRC, castle.it has subsongs for the boss and whatnot, and castle-new and castle-old are just the main song, but castle-old is missing a few patterns.

MPTracker? WinAmp? XMPlay?

Yeah, download one of those. If you get WinAmp select 'music modules' in the dropdown list of file formats...
