After the mess of the previous thread in regards to reporting crashing, a new approach is going to be used.
To end the mess of private messaging an admin, or instant messaging one of us, we have now set up one central email address: reports @ jazzjackrabbit.net .
For a hacking report to be worth anything, you need to include a screenshot of ApprehendJJ2 or NeoAC. Without this, no action can or will be taken. A crasher's name or IP address by itself is useless: evidence is required.
From this point, I'm afraid we wont be taking reports via Private Messages or Instant Messages. Please use the email address above.
What kind of things are useful to report?
Laser Crashes
Long Name Crashes
Ghosting
What kind of things are not?
General cheating, eg cheating for more weapons or lifes.
All reports will be read, and reports - if important - will be discussed by the team. The outcome of any reports will be posted (eg, if a user is to be banned).
Please note, due to new advances in protection (namely, NeoAC) the list server team has taken a more relaxed approach to banning. Only serious crashes, which threaten the list server network itself, or the game in a major way, will result in action. One off crashes could possibly result in a warning being issued to the user.
Thank you,
Nimrod
