Which method do you use to make tilesets?

Do you:

A. 256 Colour (Uses a palette to restrict colours to 256 and can only use basic drawing tools)

B. 24-Bit (Can use as many colours and drawing tools avalible then amount of colours must be reduced to 256 by a palette)

If I were to make a tileset, definitely with a preset palette (option 1).

Although I´m not really into tileset making anymore,(There is one upcomming though) I would use option A, as I did in the past, cause its easier.

Very nice thread idea, for one.

Though really, I thought there'd be a lot more people supporting B. Personally I prefer to work in 256 colors also. It lets me see exactly what I'll get as I'm making it.

I'm a noob who uses paint... so 24 bit. But it's not like I've ever really designed a tileset; whenever I make a tileset I'm usually trying to hack something >_>.

Although, that doesn't help my tileset quality much.

256 colors is the only way for cartoonish tilesets (My favourite ^^). When used well, 256 colors looks way better than any 24-bit material.
