View Full Version : Flagging downloads

I thought of a feature that I would like to see implemented (if others agree that it sounds useful, of course). There are some downloads that I would like to download and/or review at some later point, but it can be difficult to find them using the search options or by memory. So, I thought it could be useful if users could flag downloads they'd like to review later and have them easily available in some menu. This would also be useful alternative to posting a placemark review in downloads, which I believe is disallowed now.

Thoughts? If this is already available in some form, I'd like to know.

Oh, and as a side note, it'd be great if a top x downloads of the week/month/all time panel could be finished ;D

It's not available, but I like the idea. Active work on J2O is kind of none-existant, but I'll try to see if I get in the mood and get the time sometime soon to do some things there.

Why not just bookmark the download page?

Why not just bookmark the download page?Because there are a lot of downloads, and not every one that you'd want to play are on that main page, or are easily accessible from it.

I think mono meant bookmark the downloads you wanna review

I think mono meant bookmark the downloads you wanna reviewThat's simply not something I do. I have bookmarks, but I don't.. do that. It's too messy and whatnot. And it's more work than clicking something. Stop giving alternative suggestions ;(

You seem to be asking a feature that is the same as bookmarking. Bookmarks are already implemented though, in your browser. In fact your browser probably has more features that J2O will have, such as folders, renaming bookmarks, and arranging the order of bookmarks. It seems to me the feature you want already exists. You just have to make use of it. Otherwise I'm not understading you properly.

My bookmarks are categorized and I know my way around them. They don't change often.. I use them for sites that I frequently visit or am especially interested in. Making a bunch of bookmarks for random downloads on j2o just seems inefficient to me.

I also don't think you understand other purposes that a function like this could fulfill. Perhaps you don't peruse the downloads section often, but active reviewers are an important commodity. This tool would make it easier for people to remind themselves of downloads they mean to review or play, and thus it would encourage activity.

Don't forget that it's also good if you use multiple computers
