View Full Version : Anyone interested in starting a clan?

ThunderPX
Nov 9, 2006, 09:49 AM
I have a bunch of free time coming up, so I'm thinking of starting a clan, since there aren't nearly enough of them these days. So I'm pitching this to you guys to see if anyone's interested, since there's not really a point in making a clan if nobody'll join it. If this clan does get made, you probably won't need too much skill to get in, since I'm not that great of a player (Wallace lies.)

So, any takers?

Grytolle

Really, you should try to get new players instead. The public servers are full of them. However, great initiative! Always good to get new clans around.

For some reason, this "new clan" announcement seems more convincing than others I've seen. Good luck.

For me the reason is that ThunderPX is someone I remember, I have seen before, and is nice. Makes it all so much "oh, ah" than when randomrabbitxxxxxx, >>ultraman<< or similiar wants to start his clan. : )

Oh and, good luck!

I fail to see how a clan announcement posted in 2006 has not been convincing since 2005. =P

I have Dreamweaver MX 2005 so I will have no problem.
Whats the clan name?

Edit: ups, I meant MX 2004

ThunderPX

I have MX 2004. I haven't really decided on a name yet, I'm planning on brainstorming with whoever joins before I decide we have enough for now. I've already convinced one of my RL friends to join, but another says he doesn't have time.

No time is needed to join a clan (exept whet the clan wants to check your abilities).

Also, It would take a year in the very least for a new clan to affect competition...

I do appreciate your opinion on it though.

Sucer
Nov 28, 2006, 04:35 AM
Hey Thunder it's not that people wouldn't love the idea. I think it's more just that every "good" player in the community is already in some clan, and propably have made vows or promises of some sort that they stay loyal to that clan only.

Of course there are some exeptions and those people prolly join your clan, or then they don't, but the best place to get new members is (sadly) the battle servers. There are many new names and some of the players there are quite big talents. They just need time to get good.

Raven aka StL
Nov 28, 2006, 05:14 AM
Starting a new clan is a miserable idea no matter how you look at it...

You should get good and join some actual clan...

Camou

A new clan is not a miserable idea. It's just your elitism that makes it like that. Anyone can start a clan with a group of friends, or be leader of one. There are still lots of newbies on the servers now, who could become good and join a new clan like Thunder's.

ThunderPX
Nov 28, 2006, 10:04 AM
Sucer: I realise that, but it's more the fact that people have already posted saying they're interested and never got back to me.

Wallace: Stop it. I don't care if you want me to join clan X. Quite frankly, I don't think there's any point in a clan existing if there's only one around.

Raven aka StL
Nov 28, 2006, 11:41 AM
There are plenty of clans already. No more are needed.
Also I've always concidered clans to be for developed players
instead of new people.
I think new people should become good and then join a clan
or something, but indefinately not start a new one.

Of course that is a question of opinion, so why don't you show
how mature you are by shutting up about it for now...

Stijn

ok I'm on topic, but I'd just like to say that there ARE NOT enough good active clans, couse there are two, three or maybe four good active clans. (8D,C-C, maybe VS is active and maybe iT is good) So more clans are needed. "Resurrecting" a clan that reigned jj2 in 1993 is not an option. (xd)

Thunder have you come up with a name for the clan yet?

Anyway, we briefly discussed pie and that there's no pie clan but that 'pie is good' abbreviates to 'pig' before Innocent left, so we don't have a name yet.

Unless you don't mind the name being egocentric like Thunderstruck.

Wallace: You have just as much proof that there was a clan called Thunderstruck.

Actually, Camou, you're right. Tons of people have come up to me in JJ2 and saying "OMG YUR NOT DA REAL THUNDER!!11" referring to some other Thunder guy who used to play and was miles better than me. Then, I said "screw them," and now I say "screw Wallace." Let's go with Thunderstruck.

Is this going to happen? Thunder if you wanna manage a clan and play jj2 you will succeed. All you need to do is start a 1-man clan and start recruiting people. Go to battleservers or CTF servers and ask for duels from noobs. Then tell them about your clan and ask them to give you their MSN or something. This way your clan will grow and among all those noobs there has to be a few really talented ones.

Honestly think about Jerry. He made a clan like that. Recruited some noobs from servers. Then he found some people with great talent who then jumped to another clans because RR wasn't good enough for them. Of course those guys were huge noobs to clanhop because of the skillness of the clan, but anyway I doubt that problem would occour if Thunder is the leader.
