LMATilesets fail, the LMATile thread died, so why not try to make a level? This is how it works:
First, everyone who's willing to participate must subscribe to the project. After that, we will agree on a tileset and I will create a plain level with only standard background tiles. It's size is selected in such a way, that you can cut the level in pieces and give everyone participating one part. These will be something like:
3 participants: 50x30 or 30x50 (1500 tiles each block, 3000 tiles each participant)
4 participants: 60x60 (3600 tiles each)
5 participants: 25x40 or 40x25 (1000 tiles each block, 2000 tiles each participant)
6 participants: 40x50 or 50x40 (2000 tiles each)
7 participants: Many possibilities, with one empty part
8 participants: 30x50 or 50x30 (1500 tiles each)
9 participants: 40x40 (1600 tiles each)
10 participants: 30x50 or 50x30 (1500 tiles each)
Rules:
-Each block may only have one exit on each side.
-An edge block may have only two exits total, unless the level has only edge blocks.
-Place only bouncer ammo and powerups, ammo will be replaced later.
-Do not add a carrot, a carrot will be added later.
-Do not add a CTF base, CTF bases will be added later if the level suits CTF.
-If you require editing some tiles in blocks next to yours, you may only edit the closest 5 lines of tiles, unless you have permission from the owner of that block.
-A block should have at least one exit, unless there is a global agreement to make it a warp box.
-You may add warps to other blocks.
-Only on the top left block a Jazz level start event may be placed during construction of the level, start positions can be altered afterwards.
-Layers one to five and possibly six (depends on tileset) may be used.
The level will, no doubt, be used as battle level. If the level suits CTF, I will add multiplayer start positions and CTF bases in a seperate version. The level is not going to be used for treasure hunt.
