Hosting Problems...

Hi, I have some probs. with hosting.
I've checked the forum for some solutions but didnt found the right one.
I've got a router what is called: Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
and i just cant host a server,It event wont show up on the list server..
I tried to change the DNS settings and UTD ports 10052 10053 10054 etc.
but nothing wont work tough.
Can someon please help me with this.

First of all what you have listed is not a router, but a network interface card (NIC). It is where you connect your PC with a router with an UTP cable. I happen to use the same model and it doesn't give me any problems. Secondly the DNS settings have nothing to do with your server not displaying on the list. The DNS settings are used by your PC to find out what IP address is hiding behind a URL (such as jazz2online.com). If you can access this website then your DNS settings are likely working properly.

Again opening the ports has little or nothing to do with your server not showing up. If you have a router then you are to forward ports 10052 and 10054 to the IP address of your PC's network card. If you have a static network then that IP is likely to be 192.168.0.2 or something similar, but that is a different story. You should do this only if players are having problems joining your server or if you are having problems playing in other servers.

The reason your server doesn't show up is probably the fact you're using the wrong list server URL, but I can't say that for sure until you give some more details.

allright.. some more details:
Router info:
Linksys model no.: WRT54G
4 port switch,54Mbps Wireless-G
(dont know exactly what kinda info you need about the router)

I dont know exactly what you need or if this is the right info,so ask me if you need more or other info :)

You need to forward ports 10052 through 10054, UDP and TCP, to your computer. I don't know how to configure this on your router, but look for settings like "port forwarding", "services", "online gaming" or similar. To get at these settings put the IP address of your router (192.168.1.1 in your case) into your web browser.

The router will probably ask for local port, remote port, local address, protocol and sometimes remote address. Local and remote port should both be the same, and should be 10052-10054 (you may need to create seperate entries for each port). Local address needs to be the address of your computer (in the screen shot that's 192.168.1.101), and remote address should be left blank. Protocol should be set to "TCP & UDP", if that's not possible then create entries for TCP and UDP.
