I have JJCD and the JJ1 Shareware, and in both of them, Tubelectric 2's end sign is pretty much right after the bonus gem. In JelZe's JJ2-tileset conversion and this speedrun, the endsign is replacd by a checkpoint and the level continues on for a while afterwards, though in a rather strange way that looks different from the rest of the level. Could someone fill me in on the story behind these alternate endings?

Odd, although that level ending is NOT on my version of JJCD, I do remember playing through it on the shareware as a kid.
EDIT- And it only took 5 months!

There's also a red spring at the start of tubelectric 2 which I've noticed is not there in some versions (making the start nearly impossible if your keyboard/gamepad is unresponsive)

Yeah, I've had that problem too. All the springs that are invisible but pop out of the ground when you walk on them (not just the one in Tubelectric) vanished when I installed JJ1 Episodes 1 through 9 over the demo I had. The problem mysteriously fixed itself when I installed HH94 afterwards.

I've never seen this before. Weird.

What version of JJCD do you have: with or without Holiday Hare? I used to have both and only the one without Holiday Hare has that strange Tubelectric 2 ending. It's reverted back in the updated JJCD.
If you ask me, Epic has decompiled the level list and recompiled it for the CD releases. If you look closely, in the second CD version 2 sets of episodes have their images switched around: Ep. 3 (Rabbit's Revenge) with Ep. 4 (Gene Machine) and Ep. A (Out of This World) with Episode B (Turtle Soup). During the recompiling (which probabaly causes that switch) they must have used an outdated version of Tubeletric 2 by accident. Just a thought.

My JJCD has HH94 in it, yes. That's fascinating, thanks. Do you or does anyone else have this other version?

I only have the one with Holiday Hare, but I do recall having downloaded one once without it when I lost my CD. I never noticed the changes though.
EDIT: Speaking of weird Jazz 1 stuff, why did Epic never make seperate slots for HH94 and HH95?
Also, does anybody else think the ending (especially the boss) of Episode C is really anti-climatic?

It fits in with the fact some Shareware versions of JJ1 claimed A-C to be in between 5 and 6.

My Jazz1 CD was included with the extended Tubelectric. No it wasn't Holiday Hare.

I had one of the Acer shareware versions that came like that once installed, but there was also a patcher which would remove that and fix the hidden spring glitch. Maybe it was just from earlier versions and was removed due to lack of use, or something?

In Jazz CD with HH94 there are hidden springs for example in the second level of Diamondus which are not in the version without HH94.

It seems some sort of bug renders those springs unusable. I've noticed some jj1 levels seem to be especially difficult without those springs, or have areas you can get stuck in. In the past I used to just assume someone did a bad job testing the level.

I know I shouldn't be posting here, but I'm curious, does anyone have a download for those levels? I only remember seeing them once.

hahah, I actually used to wonder about this quite a lot myself. Had the JJ1 with holiday hare though, so no tubelectric ending for me :(

I have the version of JJ1 without HH, the Romware one. I got the game when it was released. Never noticed this before. If I get around to playing JJ1, I'll check it out.

I dunno if a revival is really necessary, but I just noticed in this video that the Episode C cutscene says "The rabbits rejoice!" in it where mine says "Let's go find Eva!". Also, a little later on there's something about resuming in Episode 6 which I'm almost positive mine doesn't say. Maybe there should be an ERE article of differences between JJ1 versions. :O
