And yes, what a fine copy and paste + hue change they are. It's not like the tilesets you chose to show are particularly interesting, or something we've never seen before.
Come on IC, when I saw you made a thread for this I wasn't expecting "Post in jamster's thread on crack shot up with mad photoshop border skillz" Couldn't you have some videos, a full credits list (since quite frankly, Cooba and Paul are not two names that come to mind when some hipster says name "Name two renowned designers on the scene!") some crew interviews, some jazz ship design that wasn't so god-awfully cliched looking. Hell, maybe some previews of the song remixes so that feature doesn't feel like "Interactive menus!" on a DVD feature list.

It's funny how IC starts a topic with the intent on shocking the community and in return they recieve unsincere 'looks nice but this but that' as well as sarcastic comments and references to elitism.
I am looking forward however, as it would be interesting to see a competent remake of jj1 stylized for jj2. Just keep in mind this year has only started. There are a lot of interesting things on the way, like EvilMike's newest Episode for example.

Why unsincere? I personally expected more than what I saw in the screenshots. The level design in them seemed well-done but resembles most of what you see in the good old badly spelled screenshot thread for upcoming levels, and the tilesets so far seem to me less spectacular than most edits I've seen so far. If anything, I guess IC could work on its self-presentation, because in order to really shock someone, you can't raise their expectations and then disappoint them.
EDIT:
@IC: If the screenshots improve, I might just try to get JJ2 to work somewhere to play this. The part about music sounds especially promising. More info there, please.

Some of the sets could use much better shading and lighting (among other things) to make it appear as if all the tiles belong together.

IC showing off? Probably, but I guess that's what this forum is meant for.
Some of the material looks pretty good, however I'm not really impressed by everything (the Tube-electric one is pretty plain for example)
Nice to see that you guys are still enthousiastic to provide our community with new stuff.
Oh yeah, would you guys please stop the "anti-XLM"-things? We never did anything to you, it's not helping anyone, and it's not like our groups can be compared either.

I find it sad that a level group would throw an insult at another level group. Not criticising their levels, more the people. Especially when one hasn't done anything to deserve it.
Anyway, pack looks nice so far, although tilesets there mainly catch my eye, (not as much as other things but it still catches my eye ;p) so uhh, good luck? Or something.

Anymore screenshots? Maybe more interesting stuff in them? Sorry but unless the tileset rocks, something should be in the screenshot that shows off to us JJ2ers. Anyways, is the music original? Or is it just needed to be included so people can hear it?

Keep in mind this project is a 'jj2 remake' of jj1 and there can't be anything too different to be outstanding. I don't expect so. However I am not seeing anything clever done gameplay wise with the concept as of yet.

How were we supposed to know this was a remake of JJ1? Judging the screenshots, I thought the only JJ1 connection was revisiting the planets.

I think it's the release date too(August 1) and well, I know that gameplay is not visible on those screens. In a bit more than 6 months we will know how the gameplay is. IC members already know the levels made for it.

Looking at the screenshots, perhaps? I recognize the level designs from all the tubelectric shots, plus dreempipes, technoir, and possibly one of the sluggions. It's not too complicated.
Stijn

I played JJ1 several times and didn't notice similarity apart from the "approaching" shots. Not everyone knows JJ1 by heart enough to recognize small outtakes of the levels instantly.
