I'm going to keep this relatively short and simple in the essence of time:

The concept of this contest is to make a Jazz Jackrabbit related fangame within 48 hours. After the fangames are uploaded there will be a poll set up where people can vote on the best fangame. Whoever wins gets a fangame dedicated to them.

Does it count as extra credit for calling it Jazz Jackrabbit 3?

When are these 48 hours?
Are there restrictions regarding graphics? Are JJ1/JJ2/JJA rips expected, condoned, forbidden?
Does the game have to be of any particular genre?
May any existing engines be used to any extent?

does it have to be a video game <s>and can we use zerg rush</s>

When are these 48 hours?

Ah forgot to add that after deciding not to have a 24 hour signup period.
Well for the sake of it, the 48 hours start with this post.

As for your other questions: The only guidelines about the game itself are that it has to be a fangame and that it has to relate to Jazz jackrabbit. How hard was that to comprehend? Which in turn answers DoubleGJ's question.

@Ironguy: Will the fangames be OMGTHISISMAKINGMYEYESBLEEDWITHJOYANDHANDSPRESSINGB UTTONSWITHPUREHAPPINES amazing? No. Do they have a chance to be halfway decent? Yes.

... dang, I feel like entering this but I'm having a school tomorrow... so that makes for 24 hours less time.

Edit: Does it have to be JJ2 related or can it also be JCF related?

Ooh good question, I mean technically it could be JCF related since it's the Jazz Community forums which in turn relates to to Jazz Jackrabbit.

Not <i>quite</i> finished (still adding items, though GMs can do that themselves easily), but I want to at least get it posted. I wanted to include some example scenarios but didn't get time to make anything in-depth. I wasn't sure how strictly you stuck to the time limits (didn't want to miss by like 1 hour like in the last competition). As is it's mostly a game system, but it's easy enough to make a scenario for. And unless a lot of people show up in 9 minutes, I think we win anyway.

This is the submission from Risp and I. It's a pen and paper roleplaying game called <b>Jackrabbit Funventures.</b> It has undergone no beta testing, so I kind of doubt it's balanced.

Radium and Risp would win even if there were other contestants. :p
Just..I can't imagine asking someone 'fancy a game of Jackrabbit funventures? It's this new RPG I got from the Internet, except it's all on paper'... :p

Hey, wait a minute. Why are you doing this instead of Uberbob?

Times up!
Rad and Risp wins by default, although it seems they would have won anyways since WR has become the voting public.

I knew I shouldn't have even started playing Splinter Cell Chaos Theory...

Maybe I'll finish my idea on a different occasion.

Okay, rulebook now has a reference list for over 100 items and their effects/costs.

Now someone needs to make an actual decent scenario for the game
