View Full Version : A gesture from Chiyu and CC

Chiyu

Being the CC' leader, I have a couple of things to say.

There are a few things that have been causing some pain in the JJ2 community that I would like to resolve.

Regarding cheating: I'm well aware of the rumours, but I have yet to see any clear proof. Personally though, I trust the person in question with my heart when he says he does not cheat in 'official' games.

Another issue on some people’s minds is the final results of some clanwars and CC’s (or rather: my) willingness to admit defeat. I have always wanted to count the clanwar by total scores, which was the case in 99% of CC's clanwars.

One clanwar in particular comes to mind, 8'D vs CC. Counting by rounds, CC' did win. But, I'm aware of the controversy about that clanwar. Our Division Leader, Grytolle, DID agree on counting by rounds, and that is what he told 8'D. 8'D won the match in Jungle's Edge with 5-4, and because they were counting by rounds (in which case they had already won; after all; they won the tiebreaker round in Semi before) they didn't care much about the last round (Distopia) and we easily won (5-0). If they had known that I would never agree to round based counting, they would have put up a better fight in Distopia and they would have most likely won the clanwar either way. I can understand 8'D's anger and, contrary to what many people may think, it's not something that was set up beforehand to "avoid" a loss.

I know I can appear to be stubborn when it comes to things like this, but it doesn't mean I don't care about what others (CC'ers as well as non-CC'ers who don't agree with me) think. Flaming and attacking each other will not solve anything. That kind of behaviour only tends to 'polarize' conflicts and will make it even more difficult to get a possible solution that will satisfy both sides. I won't deny that CC' hasn't always been innocent, but these kinds of 'JJ2 conflicts' as Yasco calls them, they come from all sides. It would be unjust to say that it's my - or CC's - fault alone.

As a gesture to resolve some of these conflicts, I hereby recognize the last CC' vs. 8'D as a 2-1 victory for 8'D. Since Grytolle made an agreement to score by counting rounds, it would not be fair for 8'D to change the agreement later. I'm deeply sorry that that situation has gotten out of hand like this. I would have liked to have done this earlier, however the hostile environment that was created prevented any chance for compromise. Furthermore, I'll correct CC' vs. VS (from 27/28 December 2004), into a 9-6 victory for VS instead of a 11-9 for CC. Yasco had faked Vegito in the last round and this is considered cheating. I know it's wrong, I take full responsibility and I offer my sincerest apologies for this and all the other times CC' 'used fakers' or 'faked' itself (LB). Please visit http://www.craccoclan.com/divisions/platform/jj2clanwars.html to view the updated results.

I'm disappointed that people choose to boycott an alliance between CC' and RR, seeing as it was only a nice gesture to help RR grow. Believe me when I say that it was not an evil plan to steal members from RR. In fact; that couldn't be further away from the truth since we're trying to become a SMALLER clan instead. Grytolle and I decided that we would try to avoid members from RR coming (back) to CC' at all cost.

What's even more disappointing is that people like Sucer, Yasco and Cooba decide to insult/attack CC' in a topic (the RR topic) that was never meant for that. If you have any compliants or problems with CC, feel free to talk to me instead (chiyu@craccoclan.com). As I said before, public flaming won't help.

I'm looking forward to a nicer clan scene and atmosphere in and around JJ2 from now on. Hopefully 'cleaning up' our member list (see the CC' site (www.craccoclan.com) for more information) will contribute to this as well. I'm open to criticism and will respond to any community concerns that are made in a proper manner. When everyone is treating each other with respect, there is a lot that can be accomplished through discussion.

Whoa, looks like clan land may become a peaceful place after all. This should pacify at least part of the warzone this place tends to be.

*plants a little flower for peace*

eh..wow, I'm suprised..in a very positive way. I don't really know what to say, I didn't expect this to happen, I think I(and a lot of others) HAVE to thank Chiyu for doing this and not only in the favor of 8-D, but just for the whole clan scene. Also, I have been acting very hostile against C-C, mostly Chiyu. That was based on accidents happenned in the past and I prolly overreacted. I want to apologize and try to be friendly again without having prejudices. The whole clan scene would become a lot more comfortable. Once again, huge respect to Chiyu for taking this initiative!

I think that Chiyu went overboard with that apologising and compromising...

CC isn't nearly that much at fault...

Nevertheless, someone had to do something like this. All the respect for Chiyu for being so selfless.

I'm disappointed that people choose to boycott an alliance between CC' and RR, seeing as it was only a nice gesture to help RR grow.

I might have included to those people who chose to boycott the alliance but I have my reasons. First of all I find it stupid that RR goes for another alliance when it already is in an alliance with 8D. I also find it stupid that I would be in a small clan that is in an alliance with all possible clans. Trust me I would have felt nearly as bad if the other alliance would have been made with VS for instance.

What's even more disappointing is that people like Sucer, Yasco and Cooba decide to insult/attack CC' in a topic (the RR topic) that was never meant for that.

I find it stupid that you didin't admit defeat in the cw.

P.S. Thanks you Chiyu for being a gentleman. I still don't wanna RR and CC to have an alliance however:( Alliance with all the clans sucks. It's like there would be no alliance at all!

So CC, 8D and RR are the only clans?

Due to the lack of appreciation for mockery through quoting each line, I've decided to make a completely new attempt to get what I wanted to have said said.

First of all, you seem to have completely have missed the point of this thread, which was to improve the atmosphere of the clan scene. I don't know what your reason for disliking this be, but I'm certain that no-one appreciates it.

Furthermore, starting with "it's time someone tells you the truth" doesn't really fit with vague implications (namely saying that CC wouldn't do the right thing because of being CC). You also make sweeping remarks about Polish players, which doesn't look good for someone making a big deal out of being called "jew" in a derogatory way. I'm not saying that this was right of Slayer to do - but as we all know two faults will never make a right (well, with the possible exception of an unintended double negation in a sentence, but that's very off the topic at hand).

What Chiyu did was do the right thing, despite his personal feelings about it - I suggest you try this when running the organizations you regard as your own rather than something for the entire community.

From what I've seen, there's now plenty of decent Polish players, contrary to what you state - and several of them are really nice. I'm also very curious what kind of self-written respect that it is you expect from new people. If you treat them nicely, they treat you nicely too - which leads me to suspect that perhaps you should think about how you treat new players yourself (I myself remember what impression I got of you the first time we met in a server).

I can't do anything but say that your assumption of what the kicked players will do seems rather unlikely to me, since they all love playing jj2 competitively or have gone rather inactive as of late.

If you can't see how admitting one's fault and making the right thing, hard as it may be, is a nice gesture - I really don't know how you think. I don't think you've opened any people's eyes. Everyone already knew what they thought on those matters, and all you did was show a rather disgusting inability to drop a fight.

And yes, Stey's choice of nickname was amusing indeed... unfortunately making fun of it doesn't make your post as a whole make any more sense or increase its credibility.

Lastly, of course we can't be completely sure that this would improve the clan scene, but it's definitely worth a shot. Being so negative isn't good for anything, which is exactly why I repeatedly tell people to think of JJ2WC as dormant rather than dead.

By the way, Yasco, it would be nice if you could be clearer with what you refer to in your post, since r3p brought up several matters, and "this" would refer to a single one of these. The reason for this is that I value your opinions in a way I don't do with r3p's, so it'd be nice to understand what you mean.

Thanks to you who took the time to read this far, since I realize how lengthy this post became. Long live jj2!

This conversation is pointless since Chiyu's post.

If there's one thing that it'll be good for, that is starting pointless flamewars.
I'd say it should be locked, and no new ones about the subject should be started.

People have the right for their own opinions, but
disrespecting other people's opinions is wrong.
Chiyu did what he saw as the right thing to do.
You should all do the same, unless looking down upon each other and starting childish flamewars is what you think is best...

"God has spoken"... Veg, I never doubted you for a second...

And nice thread you say? Well, I'll respect that opinion, but do take into consideration that the atmosphere in this thread has gone down by quite a margin after the first dozen posts...

I doubt you can think of a logically positive purpose that it still serves...

If you feel that there's nothing left to discuss, simply don't reply any more. It is not a valid reason to close a thread. Stating that a topic should be closed is at least one thing that does not serve a "logically positive purpose" and should preferably not be done, and certainly not more than once.
