I try some photographty

I bought a Digital Camera a couple of weeks back, and I took some pictures of, well, stuff.

Well, to start, let's look at my little gem here, a tractor looking into a field!

The angle is good, and so is the framing of the shot and the subject is in a good position in the overall image.
I would personally work with smaller sizes, and also if you put some kind of border around the picture (even if it's just 1 pixel of black), it helps to separate the image on devART from the background color on devART.

The colors could be better, but that's kind of what happens when forestry and grassland make up a background - green drowns out everything.
I couldn't really express how to make the photo look better in an aesthetic way - I would suggest browsing popular photography on devART to get a better idea of things you can do to make your photos look better, in terms of angles and positioning and cropping and whatnot.

I know you're new to photography, but I'll still say some stuff.

Firstly, the image is too big for a site like deviantART. I think something like 880 px wide is the absolute maximum for images with the new layout of dA. Also, there's absolutely no need to crop/resize the pictures to a "normal" resolution (like 1024x768 in this case). Crop it so the composition looks good, not so it's exactly 4:3 or 16:9 or whatever.

Secondly, the picture is quite overexposed. This means that the shutter speed was too long, and the picture has become too bright. It's mostly visible in that the sky is for the most part just plain white, which of course isn't what it was in reality.

Overall, the composition is a bit flawed too, although the subject is interesting. As FreeLance said, there is way too much green going on.. I suggest you read about the "rule" of thirds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds), it can really help you in cropping and deciding where & how to take a picture in the wild.

I almost pointed out the brightness and contrast, but I have a feeling that's probably from the camera (given the focus simplicity, blue edge around silhouettes, et cetera) so I figured there might not be too much that can be done to help that.
Changing the ISO settings should help somewhat, experiment with that if you can.

I do want to say though, the photo seems to have some sense of the rule of thirds already, which is what makes me think Puffie has at least some eye for photography. We all start small ;)

The picture was taken in the morning, when the sun was really bright. The sky was a light overcast, which probably led to the bright sky.

I'll load it into photoshop and play with the brightness a little bit. Thanks for the comments so far!

Only two colors, but I think it's spread out evenly enough. Landscapes I find are the easiest to take.

That's a pretty good photo.
You don't have a specific focal point with landscapes, and I think you did a good job of capturing the overall image.
That it cuts off at the bottom close to what appears to be the ground but doesn't show the bottom of the trees slightly detracts from the image itself, but I think the beauty of the shot makes up for that.
