Well, im not as much concerned because of Fquist as i am because of J2O. If the person can "hack" Fquist he or she can prolly do the same with any other user. And do *very* seedy things. Esspecially if he can get all admin rights (like in Fquist's case).

All passwords have been changed and I've demoted myself. We are currently looking for the exploit he used.. and asked him to contact us(if it's a nice hacker).

J2o has been backed up fully(8 mb dump)

So.. don't be afraid.. you won't lose j2o.

iCeD has found out the bug and we're working on it now.

I and iCeD have fixed the bug that allowed him to upload a level under my name. We also fixed the bug that let him try to download the etc/passwd file. We are currently looking at who did it.

Well i'm sorta happy that this is happening as Fquist is a jerk right now so I have no concerns absolutely maybe a tiny bit of J20 but not Fquist.

Hackers do suck but maybe one of those so called editers in your Internet Browser is how the website got hacked.

Internet Explorer

1. Go to File

2. Go to Edit with Microsoft FrontPage Editor

Netscape

1. Go to File

2. Go to Edit Page

Maybe the Hacker edited it and then saved it so the website got hacked. Just a Guess. No I didn't hack the website I might think Frank is a jerk but Hacking is wrong according to me and many other people.

John

um, sorry, but you can't just edit any website. you'd just be editing a copy of the site...

FQuist, a jerk? Nah. =P

Heh, you can't hack a site like that, Tublear. It saves onto your hard drive, not the web page.

Fquist_old
Mar 30, 2001, 04:27 PM
Actually, that's how j2o was hacked. We accidently kept the username hidden in an input type which meant he could have changed the name into mine to post under my name(he did not get my pass).

Oh, and first warning for personal attacks, JJ Tublear.

That's it I had enough this is 16th or something warning I have gotten. I can't take it anymore. Is there any other websites where I can post my levels. Personal Attacks Balogna i'm expressing my opinion for I don't want you to close my topic in Micealaneous stuff. And find out a question that's been puzzling me.

Fquist_old

You have violated the rules you have agreed to when registering on this messageboard. You get a warning.

You have to understand we are here to please people. But we don't go as far as letting people just violate the rules and get away with it.

Derby

You know, you really can't argue with that. The rules cause your ranting about that to become libel, in every case. If you really believe someone or something is bothering you, consult one person about it first. If it's going to offend others or the rules, don't bother posting it. I believe that's how things are with any other message board for good purposes.

By the way, FQuist, is it possible to get a warning for a personal attack on yourself? It certainly seems silly, but nothing is specifically said about it in the rules, from what I last read. ;-P

Fquist_old
Mar 31, 2001, 03:04 AM
Uh.. no idea. I think that depends. If you cuss a lot on yourself we might warn you for cussing, but if you say that you self are an idiot?

I don't think I'll consider that warningworthy. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Bad Fquist :P

You know, I had to read 2 tutorials at that time to actua;ly understand how to make that script. I wasn't exactly good in php back then. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Oh well.. I want to thank our hacker for letting us know about the bug in a good way.

*rolls eyes*

Except that HTTP is a read-only protocol unless using FrontPage for file transfer in which case it's password protected

Kaz
Apr 3, 2001, 04:04 PM

To call someone like Kaz a hacker would be an understatement; Wizard or Guru would be more appropriate. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Well he's a hacker I know it, you know it, we all know it. Unless he's not doing Illegal hacking such as Game Hacking. Or all hacking can be illegal?

UrbanMenace
Apr 10, 2001, 01:13 AM
Only malicious (sp?) hacking is wrong, IMO, but I think pretty much any type is illegal...

Monolith

(iCeD tea is bad for you)

I've been meaning to learn hacking techniques so I can protect systems from attacks, but I just don't have the time.

Lamer
Apr 11, 2001, 01:59 AM
Monolith, you're already an expert in C/C++, aren't you? So I think it's going to be easier for you to learn to hack.
