Seriously, do I have the wrong server listing or something, because all multiplayer games I've been able to join are filled with people speaking a language I can't decipher.

You'll have to forgive me if I'm missing something -- I just recently acquired JJ2 again and got multiplayer working. I'm using 1.24, if that helps.

Also, all of the servers seem to be compatible with either 1.20 or 1.24 -- none with 1.23.

1.24 is overrun by polish players and other people from eartern or south-eastern Europe.
You might want to get 1.23 which is a lot better in a number of ways. :)

lol

You just need to be lucky. Sometimes English speaking players will join. If you're interested in trying some more "serious" game, you're welcome to ask me for a 2v2 in #craccoclan @ quakenet, or at msn grytolle(at)craccoclan.com

1.24 can be a good school to learn Polish and Czech.

hotel!!!!!! TEs1!!!!!!TRE tttuR!1!
lol. Well 1.23 is also filled with "ESPANOL? GAYYY!".

These guys are the real active JJ2 community, we are just some unactive/semi active guys who don't like public. I mean public servers.

Anyways there are some english speakers on 1.23 host public servers from time to time (now that bs is gone [for monthes] it's more common). Get outa TSF (1.24).

On a side note, generally you don't want to know what the Polish newbies are talking about. Facepalm required.

I am playing 1.24 since some months. I didn´t notice anything bad or so, but if you say, i shouldn´t use this, i will follow your advice.
I am not playing jj2 so long, so, is there a way to start 1.23, when i have installed 1.24?

Uhhh all we are saying is 1.24 is just hotels , tests , and crappy battle1 edits , ahhh how I hate them. But if you polish I guess its ok.

Yes as opposed to the more potent battle2 edits by the 1.23 community (and by that I mean myself)

Bad examples can ruin positive images.

The last time I checked those servers were full. Only one or two was open, but the people in the servers were speaking like polish or finnish. A lot of the online games I've played had a lot of finnish players than polish. If you play them at like midnight in US/Canada.

Who cares if they speak finnish or polish. These playas are pretty fun to smoke against. I got to jam with them for awhile and it was hella fun.

Indeed it's not; it's German. :p
Though I of course regret complaining so much about it in the past.
