Why don't we just start from scratch?

Jazz2 didn't run on a perfect engine. These days we could probably replicate it, emulate, and much more by coding an engine of our own. There's definitely enough talent in this community.

c.f. FIFE (http://www.fifengine.de/) (Fallout and much more), GemRB (http://linux.prinas.si/gemrb/doku.php) (Baldur's Gate and other IE games).

Both of those are open source if anybody is interested.

So I'm wondering why you didn't use the might search functionality to do scientific research on whether this topic has been discussed already, because if you would have one of your conclusions would've been that it has indeed been discussed already, and nothing ever came from it. Hypothesises about what could be the cause of this generally can be summarized as "the skill:interest ratio is too low".

Azure moon (dedicated server project, again, search) probably came closest, but I'm not sure whether that is still actively developed.

jazz2 isn't rpg - do you want write jazz2 rpg??
We _can_ make engine for new jazz2 but there must be a lot of people

Geez, people, know when to leave a thread alone.

Closed to prevent more moronic drivel like the above 2 posts.
