I saw this when I was seven and I thought it was bad even then.

I liked it. It wasn't the best.

This is one of the few movies that is so bad that it actually warps reality and manages to be worse than itself.

THAT is bad.

Oooh, it's been this long?

I liked it back when I was young. I don't remember what was supposed to be so bad about it - I was too busy being like "yay, Jean Reno".

Well I haven't watched it since 8 or whatever. But I thought it was ok then. I don't think this is one of those rip your heart , plan 9 to earth movies.

I like the original japanese godzilla because it's an allegory for the dangers of nuclear weapons. A very kickass allegory with a giant reptile destroying a city. It's not exactly subtle, or deep, but it at least has meaning.

Then there's the american edit of it that got rid of the whole "nukes are bad" message and clumsily added footage of an american character, to give it broader appeal. This version is really just another monster movie. Forgettable.

Guess which of the two versions the 1998 movie takes after.

The japanese movies with Godzilla are very outdated and the graphics of the movie are very bad at all.
