I already know with this, spam is bound to come. But I had an idea. Jazz Jackrabbit 2 text group. Basically, it's a way where all members of the jazz community can keep in contact without paying international texting fees. There is the ability to text somebody one on one, while also being able to text the whole group.

Best part? It's FREE! You can opt out simply by replying QUIT.

No cell phone? Not a problem. If you still feel the need to be a part of this group, simply log on and check messages, or have messages emailed to you. So far, I've received no spam from these guys and they are endorsed by my cellular company.

If anybody joins and decides to just spam, they can be blocked/ignored. The URL for this group is
http://www.upoc.com/group.jsp?group=JJackrabbit

Sign up and join!

Why would I want to text you all?

And, the community consists mostly of Europeans/non-USA people at the moment.

This could get ugly very fast. Don't say I didn't warn you.

That aside, why would we even need such a lobstrocity? We have the JCF and #jj2.

And with mobile IRC clients becoming more common, why not IRC from your phone?

There's no mobile IRC. Is there are protocal that can forward messages to my phone when I desire?

I meant that's compatible with my phone

Alright, are you honestly that desperate to stay in contact with the Jazz community so much that you plan to use a text message mailing list that's going to be abused more than used for its intended purpose? I'm sure we can wait for you to get home.

No dude...

I'm not really THAT interested in getting IRC on my phone so much as I am to have a voluntary text group.

You heard it here first, folks! This is a bad idea of epic proportions.

I use IRC from my phone somewhat regularly, and I know for a fact that IRC / MSN / ICQ / Whatever clients for mobile phones are becoming increasingly common. If you have a failboat phone, that is not so much our problem as it is yours.

I can IRC from my NintendoDS if I want... and I don't even visit #jj2 often. Besides, forum?
