View Full Version : Jimbob's Christmas Server

The title really explains it.
This year I will be hosting a Christmas server, similar to the Anniversary Bash.
The Christmas server will be up at random times during the Christmas season (that means after Halloween and up until New Years). However, the game modes are subject to change at any time (depending on admin's moods) and there will be different levels (classic and new) in each game type. The available game types will be Battle (and anything that JJ2+ can play with Battle) and CTF.
Once it gets to be December 20th, however, it will turn into a dedicated server (daytime only, it will stop at night) and it will go dedicated from the 20th to the 25th. After the 25th there will be some times where I will host a small "after-bash".
The reason why I'm posting this right now is because my level list is currently empty. I'm open to any suggestions on what levels to use (or if you want a new [un-released] level you can simply make one and say about it in this thread).
This will give me lots of time to get the level list ready and it will give you lots of time to make a level (if you want to) for the server later on.
Once again, the only two available game types are Battle (and anything JJ2+ can play with Battle) and CTF, since treasure hunt levels aren't very popular and obviously nobody really made any Christmas treasure hunts.
There will be 20 levels for each game type, but the first 3 for CTF are already used (for my Christmas Fun Pack, coming on the 15th).
Also, I live in Canada for those of you who want low ping time.
There will be 15 minutes per level, if nobody has reached the score limit (50) by that time.
Post your suggestions below.
Edit to add: the server is multiversion, but even with that, the levels MUST be 1.23 only, so that everyone will be able to play it (without the "wrong CRC, aborting download" error thing).

An old Christmas battle level I made a while back. I'd love to see it hosted. (Host the remix version though) :3

I played 2D games which are easier to operate before. I think the screen of 3D game is too arbitrary, too complicated to operate, the map is too large, and the figure of 3D roles is too hard. But one day, after warhammer online was input market, I found I fell in love with a girl who loves WoW very much. Love means everything. So I started my WoW life. In order to play with my lovely girl, I must upgrade fast. So I refer myself to World of Warcraft Power Leveling (spam) and successfully became her boyfriend. Now we played together. But now I have to use WoW Power Leveling (spam) from time to time for the reason that I love her most while she loves WoW most. I dont know whether you know the game :city of villains. It is the stand alone sequel to critically acclaimed MMORPG City of Heroes. If you want to play it you should know the story and buy City of villains cd key (glorious) before. The game use a staggering assortment of new powers, abilities and customization options. When you purchased city of villains game card (spammy) and enter the game, you will experience the sinister gameplay from the other side of the mask. With diabolical craft and guile, players forge new super-powered villain characters in an attempe to dominate the world.heroes and authorities of paragon city will do all in their power to thwart these evil plans of destruction. It will take a supreme effort for true domination. The game is worth trying to play, and cov cd key (spam) is also worth buying. It can help you to play smoothly and happily. besides, the cov game card is also necessary to enter the game.

Both battle levels from HH'98 must be included.
Even though they suck.

I made remakes of the original Battle Levels with the HH tileset.
Have a CrimiClown christmas (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=3937)
They're mainly tileset remixes, but Battle1 has been fixed up and battle2 has powerups.
... if you're interested of course.

I vote for "Christmas Afterthought," by me. I say this because I miss that level dearly. :(

Please don't joke about that, the commercial Christmas season here begins before the Halloween season now.

@Hunter: Besides, last year, it started in August for me. We even got our annual Sears Christmas Wishbook in August, as well. So compared to that, this is very late.
Two months early > four months early, remember that.
Also, Christmas Afterthought and CrimiClown Christmas was added, but also take into mind I might remove some if I find some levels better than others.
... Because CrimiClown Christmas and Christmas Afterthought are good enough to be added.
If I don't like a level I might take it off, as well.
The latest version of Christmas Afterthought was added, btw.
Also, Level List Auto Shuffle has been turned on for the server, so the levels will always play randomly.

Interestingly, I have a newer version of Christmas Afterthought on my system than what's on J2O. I just might touch it up and send out a 2008 release with another goodie I've got sitting on my external HD.

So, yes! I have managed to get JCS running on my Mac (mostly) and am now working on revising Christmas Afterthought. I've removed the pesky password from the .j2l (it's just a blank password), added some new eye candy, and even added a new secret! I'll be posting it on J2O... sometime before Christmas.

Holiday Hills was added. I played MS' level, but I didn't like it very much (no offense) because there was too much snow and the eyecandy made me dizzy.
Btw, updated level list post.

I'd like to point out that you wouldn't necessarily have to use the night-time version of Christmas Afterthought; it's not particularly good. I might suggest my less popular holiday level, Y-Mas, in its place.
Too lazy to lookup the BBCode to make a hyperlink: http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=3476

The JCF is racist and does not fully support Safari. As a result, I cannot use the WYSIWYG editor.

You might add my (almost) 2 years old battlelevel named the Crazy Christmas battle 2007! It might be really fun with jazz++ and the 'evilice' command on! That might be pretty cool for christmas ;)

The levels can only be 1.23, so that everyone will be able to play it (btw, the server is multiversion).
Also, there's two battle levels that I'm also making for the server (and one CTF for the contest).

Jimbob, if you don't enable multiversion your server will be quite empty, as there aren't much 1.23 playing people around. On the other hand, most TSF players don't really deserve being in your (actually, make this any) server. Just look at their behaviour when playing.manner http://www.sitevip.net/gifs/hammer/HAMMER_T_animado.gif
