Since I have experienced many different connection problems for aswell JJ2 as other programs, I decided to share what those problems made me know now.
Standard JJ2 Connection Problems
If you have a standard JJ2 connection problem, all you get to do is find out the IP of your standard gateway (your router's IP) and the IP that is associated with your specific computer. To get those 'execute' cmd. Then you get a MSDOS screen, type ipconfig /all there. When you have got those, type your router IP into your internet browser and try to log on to your router, the standard password/username is admin. Then try to forward your ports. The ports you need are mentioned enough althrough this community. When you do not know how to forward ports (exactly) or if you cannot find your routers' password/username go to www.portforward.com to find it out.
Often routers require a very strict port forwarding procedure, so if it doesn't work try different things/combinations.
Complex JJ2 Connection Problems
If you still have connection problems after opening the right ports, there are a number of things you can do:
1)Reset all your router settings to Factory Settings;
2)Restart your router manually;
3)Make your IP Static instead of Dynamic
4)Type your computers' IP at Exposed host;
5)Enable UPnP;
You can also try to make combinations of 2-5 and port forwarding. Often manual resets of your router work positively.
To find out how to change your IP from Dynamic to Static, seach the internet how to do that, aswell on your computer as on your router, so both have to be configured.
Playing JJ2 when having Connection Problems
If you want to play JJ2 with connection problems there are some things you can try:
Connect directly to IP's;
Play with Hamachi;
Shut off Firewall and/or NAT on your router;
It is uncertain if these options will work. If you want to connect to IP's directly there are two options. The first option is to type the IP of the host into the Games In Progress screen on your JJ2.exe. The second and better option is to rightclick on your JJ2.exe and go to properties. Then type: -connectHostIP (for example: C:/games/jazz2 -connect162.125.785) in the target bar.
Be carefull with messing with your internet connection, it can cause virusses and other problems.
I hope this helps...
