Instructions on How To Play JJ2 Without A Blaster:
(Back up Anims.j2a if you haven't already.)
Open up Jazz Sprite Dynamite.
Turn off "Read Only."
Empty all the frames in Animations 18 and 22 of Set 1. Use the rectangle tool with the transparent color and hold down shift for a filled rectangle.
Save.
Run!
The red and green bird is now useless, and you can see the glow (and explosion, and ricochets) where your bullets would be, but they don't do any damage to anything. Instead you are at the mercy of what resources the level designer chose to give you, along with your butt-stomp and special attack! Whoo-hoo! Go re-imagine some classic levels today.

Wow, really cool idea. That would mean players would have limited ammo.
Power-ups would have to be placed so that they can't be kicked or hit by uppercuts to gain 99 ammo in SP.
We'd have to backup our current Anims.j2a, right?

Add that the Anims file MUST be backed up. Really. Just edit the post. Fast.
Even without a blaster, the original SP levels are a breeze on hard.

So does that mean that JJ2 actually performs collision detection based on sprites? Wow. That also means that Jazz has an advantage of some kind, as you only need one uppercut to kill the witch.

You know what's fun? Make the bullets screen-wide.

It's also fun turning all the normal fish sprites into one little pixel. If you don't change the sprites of when the fish notices you, it becomes almost impossible to see or kill the fish when it's not charging at you, so you need good reflexes (or seekers).

Oh, well, you also need to use the JSD function to make JJ2 accept altered .j2a files. I just assumed everyone had already had JSD and played with it/read the help file.

Upload the hacked animation file for the lazy ones here? :)

You'd still have to use Sprite Dynamite to make Jazz accept the hacked version.
By the way, why hasn't anyone uploaded an edited animation library before? I searched around the downloads, and couldn't find any, even though SD's been about for more than two and a half years? Using Anims files for single player levels at least, could be revolutionary!

Do you realize how difficult and time consuming it is to make 2d sprites?

Working on it, working on it.
Bobbeh: anims.j2a files are 7.8 MB each, and it would only take you five minutes at most to do this yourself (it's only six frames and all you're doing is erasing them), so no.

Open Sprite Dynamite. Press Ctrl+P or go to the "Tools" menu, and click on "Jazz Patcher". Then click the button on the pop-up that says "Patch"
