I always thought that I would enjoy JJ1 a lot more if I could see farther ahead. I never felt like I could take advantage of Jazz's speed because I would just run blindly into an enemy or something.

When I heard Open Jazz was planning on implementing higher resolutions, I became highly excited to play it. But... we haven't heard from Open Jazz for a while. So, I was wondering: is there anyway to patch Jazz to play at higher resolutions?

Other than OpenJazz, I'm pretty sure there isn't, since it's a DOS game at VGA resolution. But, since it was a game designed to be similar to Sonic the Hedgehog, the whole idea was to learn the layouts and become progressively better, so I don't think there's really much drive to create one.

Pretty sure openjazz already lets you play at higher resolutions...

The only thing is, you really wouldn't want to play jj1 at a higher res than what the game is designed for. If you have too large a viewing area, you start seeing parts you aren't supposed to see, like areas where the ground cuts off into nothingness. Basically it would look ugly.

Fail.

But also, more seriously, what Mike said is the truth. To play JJ1 at a resolution much higher than the default would probably be terribly ugly, though I can admit that seeing more of the level could be useful. Let's find a (reliable) way to play JJ2 at higher resolutions first, eh?
