Hello

I have now a Dedicated Root Server for Jazz Jackrabbit, I'm sure he can host some months without any problems some Battle Levels, 24 hours a day, later i possible use him for Private Projects but now he is "Free" for JJ2

The Server have the following Programms/Tools for JJ2:

Jazz2+:
- Servername: The Server
- Max Players: 32
- Battle Levels (I will not host CTF)
- V.1.23, Multiversion
- Admins (in + when online): Stammi, Fraesh and Sfaizst
- Idle-Server on
- Spectateing on
- ...

Hamachi (For our cto-lers):
- Networkname: JJ2Net (Full)
- Networkname: JJ2Net2
- Networkname: JJ2Net3
- Password: jj2net
- Servers IP: 5.94.111.163

TeamSpeak Server:
- Adress: JJ2.ath.cx
- Password: Not Needed

More:
If the List Server crashes or you have Problems to connect to the List Server you can use the Adress JJ2.ath.cx to join the Server.

News (27.01.09):
The Server is running agian (we are Really sorry for the downtime, but the Server needed to be reconfigured, he needed too mutch ressources)
, and we detected the Hamachi Network JJ2Net is full, so we created the Networks JJ2Net2 and JJ2Net3 too, so that more Players can join The Server with Hamachi, the Server have a new Hamachi IP too (5.94.111.163).

Have Fun and a nice Time in JJ2

Nice, how will you cope with a crashing jazz2.exe though?

Hmm, we are Hosting with Linux and Wine, we never had a crash of JJ in the Last Time, its really more stable else on Windows, but possible we will write a tool that controls JJ a bit

The most recent Anniversary Bash server was hosted on Linux, and would crash randomly every now and then, so don't be too certain...

Very awesome, though I do not see how running JJ2 under WINE will make it magically more stable.

Still, it's always good to see a dedicated JJ2 server up and running. If I were able to play online, I would totally join.

Thanks Sfaizst. It'll be cool to finally have a dedicated server. As for levels, anything from an anniversery bash would probably be good. Like these:

http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=4663
http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=4098
http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=4099
http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=4100

(Some are links for tilesets for the levels, And many of the levels are CTF, but the battles are awesome)

Also, I'm a fan of this pack, but that's just my opinion:

ab8btl11
ab8btl12
ab8btl17
ab8btl19
ab8btl20

ab10btl01
ab10btl02
ab10btl05
ab10btl07

olcbat01
olcbat02
olcbat03

If you have more Levels wishes say them

I wan t this Server like the old 'The Server', as a normal Battle Server 5 hearts and 10-15 kills

ok just to mention some points:

1) make maxplayesr 16 instead of 32. jj2 can't handle more then 16 (why did no-one discover this?)

2)You forgot to look into Ab9.. and if i were you i should look into the following packs:
Codename:Alliance, Impressions, Impressions Z, Impressions E. And New Ages if you got it in your Folder. i mean, Snooze deleted New ages from j2o little while ago.

3) i don't know if anyone agrees but, i'd like to see getting Blades levels off the list.. imo they aren't so good, but of course.. that's just my opinion. i mean the following levels: Aztecbattle2 Aztecbattle 3 Betonbattle and Rocksbattle

4) i am not sure if you should let Battle 3 stay in, i am not fond of Battle 1 either but.. I am not sure about b1.

I also don't see why changing the maxplayers to 16 would be a good measure to take.. just seems like a wast of typing energy

My goodness, my dormitory doesn't block the ports for JJ2 like my ISP at home does.

Perhaps I'll look into making an appearance at this most promising server.

Well, that's exactly what i mean. you don't have to correct me to look smarter.
And still, it's better to set it to 16 players, since no-one really splitscreen that much.

How is it better to disable those who do use splitscreen from doing so?

Even worse, if a splitscreen comes a possible player can't.
