View Full Version : Annoying playing habits

I admit some of my playing habits are strange when it comes to joining and leaving servers and lots of idling in the past. I've noticed a lot of annoying habits people have whenever I play on Zeal Server or Sfaiszt's battle server. For example: I'll start playing a game when someone clearly has control over the map, or maybe I start off terribly in a level I have never played or played in a while, everything is fine until I get control and start to dominate, then these players either idle, not play seriously or flat out leave the game. That leaves players who I have no interest in playing in the server. Sometimes I get distracted, or I don't play seriously, then lose a game, then the player leaves afterwards. I've noticed duels where players do very well in games to 5, but once it's 10 they lose. The most annoying habit is when certain players try to judge whether they can win or lose a game without even trying, there are at least 2 players who do this, and it is really annoying.
Anyway, this topic was started just for people to say what crazy or annoying things you experience when playing jj2 online. There are quite a lot of moments I know you guys have seen or experienced. Feel free to share.

Thanks to plus I have actually found public playing a bit of fun recently. I used to ONLY idle in public servers in the past. I've experienced the same thing that some players who are playing serious at first often leave the game after they lose a single round.
I admit I do have sometimes problems concentrating on for example really long duels, but it's not that I'd be like "bah I give up, no interest."

One thing is I'll start playing a game when someone clearly has control over the map, or maybe I start off terribly in a level I have never played or haven't played in a while. Everything is all fine until I get control and start to dominate, then theese players either idle, not play seriously, or flat out leave the game. So this leaves players who I have no interest in playing in the server.
I do this, usually. But when I play in a public server (heck, I only play public nowadays) I rather not try to play well. Actually, it usually means I'm busy with something and only am half concentrated. If I then have to concentrate to continue my streak/whatever I don't bother and continue with what I was doing anyway. I usually idle a lot during games anyway, even when I stay in a server for longer. It's usually short periods I idle, but those moments come fast after eachother or I can even idle for 10 minutes or longer, straight.
Actually, it's sort of funny but I get annoyed by the exact opposite of you. If I play in a server I (usually) don't want to try. If then for example you join and play against me in a serious way it will only make me go idle faster. Simply cause I don't want to bother at playing serious then O+. At occasions I however try to continue to play serious/more serious.
Sometimes when I play in a server and try to get a rampage for example, there are players who'd join, try and kill me only, say haha and then leave. Prank players :+
I don't really play anything serious anymore so I don't really have bad experiences there lately. Even at the very rare occasions I accept a duel/2v2/3v3 I totally don't feel motivated//cant care.

The problem is it's simply not fun to play jj2 in public servers if players are going to leave. If players don't want to try, or idle or whatever idc. It's when they start giving up when things don't go their way. Don't misunderstand.

Ah alright. I understand your point. If I play in a public server it usually means others do try while I only have to care half cause of the eh .. level of those players. Playing for fun, for me, is not having to care about lag/things when playing against someone. If I play against someone who's as good as me/better than me depending on what level, I start to care about lag and things. Then JJ2 gets no fun for me anymore. I guess it's about what people consider fun here =\.

I've noticed the same thing in some UT games. You join a server with a bunch of random players and play along. Normally in mid-game someone else is likely leading the match, but when I make my way to the top, these freaks start to leave...

These player's are 10-12 years old so they play only for fun and when something don't go in they favor leave the server..:r

So, you're trying to say older players are not playing for fun?
Once you're about 18, you can only play when gambling for significant amounts of money.
