I'd like to create an MCE in my level that causes sparks/electricity to shoot. I had a hard time understanding the articles on J2O. Can anyone explain to me how this is done?

Read this one (http://www.jazz2online.com/jcsref/node.php?node=84&mode=id&menu=topics). It's long, but really easy to understand. I had no idea how to make MCE too, until I found this. To learn MCE you must just at first learn some other things and this article should teach you all of them step by step.

Can Blur make MCE event to change musicfile?

If he would make an event that changes the music to a custom one, this wouldn't be a MCE. It's hard in use and can only create objects, and you probably want it to be a zone. Anyway, I don't think he will do this. If you want to change music, change your Boss1/Boss2 music and use the Boss Start event. And remember to tell people they should make a backup of the original Boss1/Boss2.

Here is a thread with a few ideas specifically for spark/electricity creation. (Note that the prospective article mentioned therein is the one Sir Elementaler linked you to.)

Ah, that helps me considerably. The setup I was looking for was more of an SCE, but I can see how using crates to create a shower of sparks could make a more spectacular effect.

Are there any other events that produce electro blaster sparks (directions other than left to right)?

You can't really control SCE gun directions, no.

Maybe you could rig something with a ricochet event and a wall?

I seem to recall that SCE guns don't work with ricochets, but even if they do in general, certainly electro-blaster won't.

You can bounce seekers of h springs, but they will fly at angles.

Okay then. I'll make do with the right>left shots and crate generators. Thanks for the help.

Btw, can anyone provide me with a link to a list of possible MCE/SCEs?

No guarantee of either's impeccability.

That MCE article there isn't that useful, since it mentions a really outdated technique, and won't actually let you do much more than make glitched sprites (it should also be noted that MCEs are not the only way to abuse sprite glitches). Though, the list it provides is more or less accurate as far as I know.

The SCE list is better, because it tells you most of the good tricks involving gun turrets and interesting tricks. These are more useful than falling JJ2 logos and weird letters that chase you, at least.

The more important use for MCEs is to make things like properly regenerating crates, regenerating trigger crates, enemies in mp levels (careful with this one), fly carrots in mp levels, etc. For these, you don't really need a list: you just need to learn the method for creating them, and have the event ID(s) you want to use.

Another question:

I came across this mod collection a while back: http://mods.jazz2online.com/

I seem to remember that there was a single .zip file that contained ALL of the songs in the archive, but I can't find the link. Can anyone help me find it?
