Alright this is gonna be my mini duel tourney. It'll start on Septemeber 22nd (maybe earlier if I see that the sign-up's go well) and take as quickly as possible, hopefully no more than a few days. Although I must warn ya, THIS TOURNEY WON'T HAVE SEMI IN IT, SO DON'T SIGN UP IF YOU ONLY PLAY SEMI :p.

Wow, with the exception of Sbreach and Slab Ratz, this mappool is almost a perfect collection of the few levels I really don't like playing in. I think I'm going to sit this one out and limit myself to cheering players on ;)

(Also, just out of curiosity: will you be using timelimits for the duels? Sbreach, BBlair and Marsh duels can be particularly horrendous without one)

You might want to know that the reputation feature is more often than not, very misleading. In this case, it isn't, but oftentimes it is.

EDIT: Alright, I've updated the player list and added BleachedD (http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/1662/bleached-diamondus/) to the mappool. By the way, the registrations are now closed.

"Best of three levels" method - each competitor picks a level from the pool.
<br>
The winner of a level recieves 1 point (therefore, possible outcomes: 2-0, 2-1).
<br>
Each level is played to either 15 minutes or 10 points, whatever comes first.
<br>
If the score was still tied after 15 minutes, the competitors would keep playing until one of them scores (extra time - golden point).
<br>
In case both competitors won one level, a third level that is agreed on by both competitors would be played (in case the competitors couldn't agree on a level, they would keep veto'ing levels from the pool until one level was remained).
<br>
At least one of the competitors must post the results in this thread after the game.

There is an uneven number of players in the tourney. Therefore I've decided that the last 12 players to sign up must go through a preliminaries stage in order to qualify into the tourney. You can play them right away.. the deadline will be Septemeber 22nd.

comments: EotM is a horrible level for anyone who has always based their game on all-round gameplay strategies and who can't adapt to gameplay where all the emphasis is on 'tricks' and none on the all-round gameplay... plus there was a crapload of lag in Jake's favor... he never got hit at the right time and I got hit even when I shouldn't have.

As for BBlair, Veg hosted (as opposed to ZD 1 for EotM). Veg's server hardly lagged, although Jake still had his lag-armors on for the most part. He also played a smart game and took pretty much no risks whatsoever and gave me a few airs.

I'd say this tournament's mappool will go down in history as the one where the worst-ever substitution of a classic level took place.

EDIT: Afterwards, I figured out why I lagged so bad in the match against Jake. Someone was using the same (very limited) bandwidth from another computer to stream video and sound. It's my responsibility to eliminate lag sources on my end, but GRRRRR.

PS. The 'reputation'-feature is a cruel joke.

Six elimination duels were scheduled to be played in the preliminary stage, although there were only five extra players. The reason for this inconsistency is beyond my understanding.

The deadlines do seem rather harsh though, I doubt you can expect people to camp their computer 24/7 to find their opponents, especially when you factor in jobs and school.

Yes but that's why there emails were put up. Signing in once a day just to check doesn't hurt. Or simply send an email and just plan a "date" as such, so you can both play at the best times for each other. Just need a little communication is all.

I do agree it being a bit fast, it can make it harder for some people, rep should probably put how fast he wanted it to go. Some people however could of at least sighed on to the JCF saying they can't make it. Otherwise it looks like they haven't even bothered.

heh I just saw there was a battle tourney by Qz that never got finished. I won all my games in the group stage then dropped out, odd? Don't remember it happening. Cool though, I'd really like to see how a battle duel tourney turns out someday..
