Players are starting to play it much for some reason, maybe because It's in the mappool of the JJNet tourney or whatever. I think it will be very popular if it continues like this, what do you think?

It already is, but at least it's more interesting. Keep making good threads!

However I'm in the belief that soon people will abandon EotM. There are only a few levels that remain popular over the years..

I guess it will not be so popular anymore when people realize how annoying this level is after you died. :P

I certainly hope not. Not that I'm that smitten with Semi, but EotM hates me with the fiery passion of a thousand suns and the feeling is mutual.

Sorry to break it to you, Enig, but EotM is a (-)(-)(-)(-). It'll kill anyone that falls into that pit, not just you

Well, I've made a number of popular levels before, and while EotM is arguably one of the more popular ones I don't think it really compares to others (and certainly doesn't come close to semi). Basically, there are better levels out there, by other people and by me. I'm not saying it's bad, but I don't think it has what it takes to reach that amount of popularity.

I think the main reason for its current popularity is because it was included in the mappool (and specifically designed for) the JJNet tournament. Without that, it probably would have been overlooked, like most levels are. Good (albiet evil) level design also helps though.

I think it is a level which will be played for some time, but less and less as time goes on, and eventually it will reach a point where it is still remembered, but only played once and a while. It will be kept around for the occasional game, if only because of that pit...

On the other hand, I've been wrong about this sort of thing before (never expected helldome to be popular, although it too was made for a tournament, and like EotM it was very carefully designed). We'll see.

I kinda don't believe this will be popular as semi. Semi will always be semi XD

this will not be as popular as semi is, because of pits :(

It might not be popular as Semi, but I'd like it to become...(We seriously need another level to worship)

This. I find pits so annoying in a humorous way. I managed to fall in a pit which was only 1 tile wide. Its always funny to see your opponent fall in a pit and lose the flag, then 2 seconds later you also find yourself falling down a pit.

I've played a couple games there and it was fun. Didn't find the pit too troublesome. I'd rather EoTM be popular than semi to be honest.

Personally I find Light Switch a much better and smarter level, and deserving attention much more than EotM :(

The pit in EotM is only annoying if you're too stupid to see the copter isn't there..xD

EotM's gameplay is too centered on tricks, like dropping the fly C with PU bouncers (plus, sometimes the carrot remains in the pit and is hard/risky to get).
In semi you can do a whole lot without the tricks, but in EotM you practically lose without them.
EotM is also small and symmetric and has many tubes, and at any given time you have much fewer options for your next move than you would in (for instance) semi.

Sure EotM is a good level, but it's recent popularity is ridiculous.
