'the real clans are the ones that remain stable for ages, or at least contain players who are generally loyal and wouldn't switch to another clan within a couple of weeks.'

'Mostly a bunch of childish players who got no respect to the oldies'

'Haha, I just mean the general whiny/know-it-all attitude and constant flaming/cussing (of course there are exceptions, that's why I wrote "mostly").'

Well if that was a sarcastic job description, then you got the 3 perfect candidtates for your new clan.

Oct 24, 2010, 11:16 AM
^We have actually been playing together a lot even before the clan started, all these players are very skilled and good friends of mine so it was natural for us to become a team. We still have to work out our teamplaying.. but give us a chance and we'll prove ourselves. :)

Not to mention that [si] wasn't even alive enough to be considered as a real competitive clan.. I had been STARVING for some ladder games ;)

Yeah, I wasn't talking about you either taking that into account of course. Not to mention you've been around for so long so it'd be kind of hypocrite to name you as a clanhopper now. I'd probably be the same then.

Anyway, I have my doubts Riper/Skele will stay for very long. SR will probably get them to join his clan again at one point and so on so on.

Edit: And no matter how many times you hop clans, you will get chances time after time again. Your reputation will get worse and worse but no clan will decline the better players in the community. In the end, it doesn't matter what gets posted about a clanhopper time after time. There however won't be much respect anymore after some time. Heh.

Either way, the only way to get respect back is to actually STAY in a clan for a long time. And not hop time after time again.. ;-)

Toni
Oct 25, 2010, 04:45 AM
I agree with Vegito (yeah Gry, I gave him reputation :p ). This clan will not die soon. I remember when I was in CC. In 80% of cases I was alright about new players who kept joining CC, for who I told they'll leave in less than 2-3 weeks. I was alright about new clans when I told they will die in less than 2-3 months. Some of them: RA, xR, KY, reborn of xS, etc. Can't remember more clans atm. But this clan will not die soon. Even if skele, riper and kenny leave, r3p will find some good active players and recruit them.

Yeah I know that you were in [si] very long time, and almost everyone is inactive. I understand you, so it's not like you're clanhopping.

1 question: Why do you have the Japan flag for your clan?

Skele!
Oct 25, 2010, 08:31 AM
As I said on JJnet: JJ2 Is the only game that cares in how many clans and when did you leave the clan.

Explain to me why is it so Important.

Lithium
Oct 25, 2010, 09:29 AM
Other games have thousands of players, clans and servers. It's more local, the community in other games does dislike you when you change clans so often, but you can always change the server...you can't change the community in JJ2.

I have to agree with Veg. He beats me.

Toni
Oct 25, 2010, 10:25 AM
^ For example, let's think about Counter Strike. You have more than 15 000 servers in the world. If you play on 1 server, you can find a clan there. You can every time change your nick and it's almost impossible for someone to see what was your former nick. You can change your clans every time on every server and there isn't any person who will care about it.

On the other hand, JJ2 has very much smaller number of servers and players. Everyone knows everyone. If you keep changing your clans you will make your reputation go down. Also if you behave very bad the same thing will happen to you.

Now you see him,
now you don't,
look out, he has you by the throat!

He strikes with fear,
at all you hold dear,
but as suddenly as that,
he is no more,
gone, in the night,
like a bat.

Good bunnies have naught to fear,
for in a second he will be gone, from whence he came,
Shadow is his name.

Heh, I actually think the current "merge" is my best contribution ever yet out of them all.. nothing can make me feel as good as bringing a clan I like back to its past days, quickly paving our way into top 5 at the ladder and we also got a kick(-)(-)(-) player in the finals of the duel tourney.. I doubt anyone else in the community visioned that this revival would become so successful. Saying I'm proud of myself would be an understatement. Ok enough talking, I'll just do enough managing to try and keep this up.. :)

Clanhopping can be problematic indeed Vegito, but it is funny how the very next day we merged with BRFH I got a ton of warnings from a couple of other clanleaders (some of which after losing against us have decided it wiser not to compete with us anymore), how GpW is going straight to hell.

Keynes said that in the long run we're all dead, and I say in the long run most people are clanhoppers and if they aren't clanhoppers they get inactive; so we're focusing on the now and hopefully the core of GpW will stay the same for a long time.

But then again Vegito might be right. Only time will tell. I sure hope he's wrong, but only time will tell.

Well our team is led by the new generation of JJ2'ers, they play with a lot of ambition and are very eager to win, thus we made them (Kenny and Skele, who both rule, I'm sure no one got a doubt about that) the team captains @ JJ.net. Within a short time we fixed our teamplay and keep getting better at it.. I spectated them at our recent matches and they showed an impressive performance. I'm very positive about them and I think they proved themselves when they joined [GpW]. I'm sure they'll keep leading [GpW] into more victories.. but yeah, first thing we'll have to make it through the test of time. :)

That might be a correct thing to do, making them leaders of some sort. They are indeed great players which we talked about before. Well, Kenny more than Skele then still though. Of course it would be a good thing for JJ2 if GpW gets pwnage again no doubt about that. I just wonder how long those 2 will stay loyal without getting bored though. Maybe they won't be bored starting up GpW again

[GpW]Urbs
Nov 8, 2010, 04:36 AM
Ya, young players get bored quickly I suppose.

Overall, I'm happy we're back.
I don't like the fact we've already started arguing, but such is the reality of things.
I hope we get to become more than just a ladder clan, but instead, somewhat like the GpW of old and the CC of today, a group of friends as well as team mates - whereby I for one will not be organising any live events anytime soon:)
I also hope we can be a part of the jj2 community again, which is why I restarted the clan in the first place. I realised, at my tender age of 23, that JJ2 was an important part of my life.
I still remember with fondness the insane amount of 2v2's and 3v3's we played during that time when GpW unfortuanetly wasn't active anymore, but when the active players, no matter the clan or the faction, would play teamgames together and it was during that time that the great Vegito, Gry and Superjazz of today were born.

I love how the ladder is full of clans and how jj2 is still teeming with life after all that time. I would, however, love to see more activity from the old giants and more quality from the newcomers, because a close competition is always the most fun.
Sure, when you are competing, you don't feel that way - ideally one would wish to hold a monopoly over the best players and just "own" the scene, as it were.
But when we will be looking back at our lives, I believe it will be the competition between us and the cooperation between us (within the clan and also, more generally, a community-wide cooperation) is what we will remember the most.

I get how GpW's return, up till now quite successful, has sparked different reactions, and I am here to tell you, that we will do all we can, to mitigate all the negative impacts of our arrival (some clans have regrettably lost a good deal of members because of us, which was something I should have known would happen, but which I never planned) and try to give the community the best we have to offer. Admittedly, some fine points need sharpening, some raw diamonds need cutting, but we will, hopefully, get there.

Team play, a communal feeling without impossing any rigid restrictions (obligatory trainings etc), a live and let live clan with competitive aspirations - this is our ideal. A clan of diverse membership with diverse tallents, aspirations, histories, nationalities and goals.

On these last points I fear we have yet to deliver, as me and rep have been more active on the ladder than anywhere else (well that goes for me especially, rep was busy rebuilding the webpage), yet our preoccupation with competition is understandable, as clans are primarily groups of people who wish to compete with one another.

Anyway wish us GL HF!

Urbs, you're very good. Imo one of the best active players in GpW (I am talking about clanhopping an behaviour). Don't argue with the other players, but I afraid they're alright. I am talking this for your good. Don't let everyone in your clan because big part of new players are clanhoppers. I know this is one of the oldest clans in JJ2, but don't ruin clan's reputation. I still believe this is a good clan, with great people who are leading, but with some clanhoppers. I believe in this clan, and will be strong (already is).

I have sent them to Urbs who said that the top right one was his favorite if straightened out. Unfortunately, I'm finding myself lacking time to work on the logo and make it the way I wanted to. These are what I've come up with. They are just custom fonts, nothing more, nothing less. Either way, I figured they would suit the page.

Also I do know some ActionScript and would be able to help get the flashy version to load.

It would be as simple as:

This thread has gone extremely off-topic,as it has turned into a chatroom for GpW members and a place for them to say how GpW is uberl33t so that we can all know it. This was about BRFH,not about GpW...

And so, fate would have it, that these blumen Boomin' rabbits would rise from the very depths of Hell itself; and as they rose, ever higher and higher, a change hath started to occured!
A transformation of sorts.
Long gone were their boomin rabbit days, and to hell with their hellish ways, they were looking forward to new and happy days!

Reaching a sense of oneness, with one and all, where all is one and one none and one is all, and t'was in this very state of things, that for Guru's they were pronounc'd!

Yet the Nirvana was not to be, gone was introspection and passivity, hello and welcome Proactivity! For is it not true, that he who supposedly understands, yet fails to act, does in fact understand naught and not at all?

Alas these poor wretched souls, escaping hell only to be confronted with life - the most hellish hell of them all - had to take up arms and acquire back the ways for which they were so famed in the netherworld. The craft of war seemed to kling so out of date, so it was either very lucky- or t'was mayhaps by design or fate? - that a dictionary lay nearby that told them how Warcraft has been since times immemorial passe and Warfare is how the kids roll today.

And so, in less than seven days (or mayhaps millenia and more?), the path had taken these poor wretched souls from Hell to Heaven and back again - a trek unparalled by all, other than mayhaps the one undertaken by Chairman Mao or Bilbo Baggins, but we all know how the 1st one was made up and the second one blown up!

The Gurus Of Proactive Warfare hath arisen back from Hell and Hell hath no fury like a Guru scorned!

Yet there were some who disapproved. There were gods and deities who disapproved - yet the mightiest of them all cared not for as he (the Grymastern that he be!) aptly put: [GpW] skuks!
And so unwittingly the Tag was born, one which we wear ever since we're born. All hail the mastern for his great gift!

Are there morals to this story?

Death is relevant.

We are everywhere.

Red is our favourite color.

And of course: Happy to be of service:)

EDIT: This thread needed synthesis.

This is like... iR, iA, RA, xR, Y, and now RA. iR died (BRFH died), RA was almost the same as iR (GpW in this case), iR is back with different members (BRFH). Coincidence? :p

Why did you leave GpW?

spaceboy
Jan 6, 2011, 09:59 AM
Cuz after I built the clan, brought all members, etc, the members got obsessed, and the clan didn't turn out into what I wanted it to be. It became too big. So screw it. BRFH will continue the ways of what [GpW] should've been.

How DARE you say that about babies choking to death?

Calm down and besides who are you to say that I cannot say that?

It's just a metaphor and you've completely missed the point.

Besides, people are able to say what they want even if it's controversial in your eyes. I am also really glad that we can, because this luxery is missed in some nations, so guard it safely. (reg ;-), fun over.. )

Yes, there are a set of rules on forums and in this case, I'm not breaking it. So your opinion is just another matter of opinion but I do not agree with you.

So to clarify what a metaphor is; A metaphor is the concept of understanding one thing in terms of another. A metaphor is a figure of speech that constructs an analogy between two things or ideas; the analogy is conveyed by the use of a metaphorical word in place of some other word. (C) WikiPedia.

Shall we keep it civil?

Wow.... take it easy sparky!

There was no need for saying that. We are civil and mature men. It's just a bit of trash talk and friendly taunting from fans. No issues, just makes the game of upcoming Saturday more fun and exciting. :)

As a student, if you aren't drunk & laying wasted in some bar, then go and watch the game!

u never have whitnessed my humor with your own eyes in real life

Your memory is fading, we did meet each other a couple of times (*kuch* Efteling, this also with Tom and some other guys from CC), so yes I seen you with my own eyes. In my humble opinion, you weren't funny, you are just hyper active, obnoxious and annoying. Don't get me wrong, I have no grudges against you, infact you are fine. Because I can enable those special powers of annoyance aswell ;-).

But perhaps you are completely right and that weren't at your best or that you have improved yourself! Then go ahead, give me a laugh or two. So I humbly challenge you, make me laugh and you have the drink of your choice! :)

i dont look at choking babies do you? cause if i saw a baby choking i would help them asap

Duh, because it's not funny. That was was kinda whole point :P

Yes, it is good that you would help the baby, but what if you couldn't for some reason. You are stuck, you are to far away... then the ''humor'' quickly fades, your heroism is crushed and you feel misarable.

It seems that you didn't get his point. He says that you shouldn't compare shaney's humor to babies choking to death, because shaney's humor is way lower than the humor of babies choking to death. Hmm, did I explain this clearly?
