Like I said in the other thread, it runs just fine in Wine now. I haven't even had any "random crashes."

You were probably using 1.2, which indeed has problems with it. Try 1.3.

Hunter - It used to crash for me on every level cycle. Maybe you're using a newer version of wine.

Hmm, didnt we had this discussion a bit earlyer? (I mean this about linux).

So I repeat me agian, my Server was running the complete year 2009 on linux without big problems (only sometimes had some download problems...).
What for cycling problems do you have? (Access Violation?, is jj doing nothing (hanging)?,...), cycling worked all the time on my server...

You can use native dlls from windows XP as example too (possible its fixing your problems)

If I where you I would try older wine versions i used something with 0.9.x (i think it was 0.9.6 or 0.9.2).

JJ2 itself works since years with wine (as you can see on WineHQ)...

really intresting Sfaizst i had always wine error when i was tryning to change gamemode when i log in as admin
or it stuck sometimes when I cycle lvl.
I don't trying wine 1.2 but 1.1 has bugs above

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and have been running the latest JJ2+ under Wine 1.3 for some time. It works perfectly, EXCEPT for the sound. The first time I load JJ2 it freezes, and after I have killed the process and reloaded JJ2 it complains about the sound device being busy. Yes, I have changed the sound driver from ALSA. Any advice?

I still dont get the problems you have, i tested JJ2 with the newest plus version on wine V.1.2.1 and Ubuntu 10.10 (gnome and visual effects enabled) even JJultimate work (I'm really wondering about this)
