What do you guys think?

Yes, there shouldn't be a discrimination of characters. The leadership of JJ2 made that character, so it should be used in game. I really don't see why it shouldn't be used. Please, can anyone explain me why it shouldn't?

Though I voted 'yes',it's only because all characters should be equal, not because I disagree with that rule. Now we should edit the rules just because of CDF??? I don't think so.
On the other side,GpW runs the tournament,GpW makes up the rules they like and they would use (for example against CDF),right?

Uhm no we don't run the tournament.
In fact the rules were being discussed on IRC with some other people from other clans.
And rep is gonna let emp run most of the things due to the fact he is busy.
This tournament roxx, and Im sure the lori debate can be settled, but wtf is up with the conspiracy theory?
Rep ran things the 1st time and his clan got pwnt.
The 2nd time round a lil clan called CC was being all: "Oh no, rep is biased, get us another admin or we dont play!" So rep stepped down and chippie bw took over.
And even in the 2nd edition his clan got pwnt.
So reps clans dont generally do good on his tournaments.
We're looking to change that.
Enough with the whole "zeitgeistian" conspiracy! The rules are there but they can be debated ffs.
Only problem is, rep is away during the week.
But that is exactly why he appointed emp in the 1st place - cuz he knew he needed and aide. And cuz he knew people would be saying what they are saying right now.
Personally i see no use in the anti lori rule...
And as I play in TSF myself I see no reason for the 1.23 rule.
Those are minor adjustments that can be and will be discussed.

And there, to show my appreciation for other players and to show that I have about as much to do with the running of jj2wc as a monkey has to do with colonizing Mars, I will vote for Lori.
EDIT: just noticed the news section on the JJ2WC page, apparently the channel on mIRC is back as well. So if you dont have rep's msn or if you find these forums tedious, you have another way of contacting jj2wc officials.

Why are there two "Yes" options? Just wondering...

I pointed out that the rule about abusing bugs needs to be clarified... For example if one should be allowed to kick through stuff as lori. In response, he - among other things - forbad lori :D
I voted "no" because Sven's poll-making sucks. Give 2 neutral options: yes or no. If you want more options than that, ask around properly first to get all arguments represented.

Your argument for voting no sucks harder...
I just added a normal yes and no for anyone who doesnt agree with the common arguments.

Spaz has a bug that people still abuse sometimes. Wallclimbing. Sure, plus fixes it, but people can still turn it back on. Hey I don't see anyone complaining about that. I know it isn't really used in CTF...but it's still kind of annoying when people use it in games like pest or LRS. Oh and streetfight too. Going through walls isn't much of a huge advantage with the kick through thing. Besides it's easy to fail. It's really what makes her unique, and makes her in semi a rather err...somewhat use (I still think Spaz is better there so don't get me wrong). And well it's pretty much part of her character, I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with this glitch.
Though yeah a neutral voting option would be nice, not that I would vote for it though.

I definitely agree that Lori should be allowed.
stuff about LRS and whatnot
not relevant for the rules of a CTF tournament

I know, I'm just giving an example that Spazzes bug is still abused as well. Perhaps it wasn't such a good example to bring up. But the main point is that I haven't heard of anyone who complains about anyone taking advantage of the wallkick.

Should Lori be allowed to play with in the JJ2WC? That's entirely up to r3p. Their his rules you don't have to play in the tournament if you don't want to. Personally I can see no towering reasons to not include lori, but it's up to R3p.
You could always make a tournament for lori only. The merriment of it :D

Just a thought, JJ2 could really do with replays, so it's possible to objectively check afterwards whether someone cheated or abused bugs like kicking through stuff with Lori.

Ok, you guys win. Lori is now allowed.
No more discrimination of characters!

No reason to disallow using the weakest character - you choose your own bondage. Saying that disallowing Lori would be a "discrimination" is not really right though.

Lol "Weakest character". That really depends on the level. And some can play her better than others. You don't know how much I use her. ;p I generally find Jazz the weakest once you get the hang of jumping high without the need of uppercut, but then everyone has different tastes sometimes.

[GpW] doesn't run the tournament, I do. Like I've mentioned a hundred times before, of course I'd be happy if [GpW] won, but for me the real success will be if the season becomes successful, even more than the first two (that are nowadays considered a legend), which I expect it to be easily.
I'm the brain behind JJ2WC, but I expect it to be a community effort. Let's all get in a sportsmanship spirit and do our best to make it an unforgettable event.

Yes absolutly, im happy with this thread,
To be honest, i was always in prefferance over 1.24 TSF than 1.23.
Imo its pretty logical to play on the newer version than on the older version. "pro people" always preffered kept playing on 1.23 because 1.24 was full of n00bs or newbs. Whilest nowadays anyone can get TSF and in that case you wont have to run 2 different exe's to be able to join all servers.
Also i think Lori is cool, i would stick with Spazz, but why keep her out, its unfair.
Weither she is weak or not, she should be avaible for use.

Because he opened it. Typically such requests only work very shortly after opening the topic; there's been some discussion now, which can either continue or cease; no need to close the thread.
