So, My Chemical Romance is about to release their newest album, entitled "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys." I've always liked My Chemical Romance well enough in the past, but this album is exceptional enough that it deserves a mention.
It is a radical departure from their previous effort, "The Black Parade." However, while the change can be almost jarring at first, the new direction of the music is just as in-your-face and hard-rocking as before, if not moreso. Instead of the dark death-related storyline told in The Black Parade, we now have a campy story about the 'Killjoys,' told in the form of a rock opera every bit as good as the likes of American Idiot.
Anyone who enjoys alternative rock should certainly give this album a try, and anyone who previously felt turned off by the darkness of My Chemical Romance should give this album a listen too. Interestingly, the people who may like this album the least are the people who are expecting a 'Welcome Back to the Black Parade,' but any fan of My Chemical Romance will certainly grow to love the new music as well.
If you just saw a wall of text and thought "tl;dr," then <s>screw you</s> allow me to summarize: the new album from My Chemical Romance is very good and should be listened to and purchased by all.
