View Full Version : Most Annoying Enemy?

Throughout your time playing throughout jj2's vast jungle full of SP levels, was there any particular type of enemy which really drove you up the walls?

I've listed 14 candidates which I suspect the general community would probably choose from, but I've also included "Other" if what you would pick does not happen to be on the list. In which case, you should probably state your choice in a post.

Probably the dragon because it's so dang hard to notice...and killing it because of how tiny it is. Don't get me wrong, dragons are cool but it can still be an annoying enemy. Annoying enemy runner-ups for me would be the bees, dragonflies and monkies.

Imma vote Sucker because it's so hard to buttstomp.

Definitely one of the flying ones, because they have a habit of hiding in the walls where I can't shoot them. Or actually, I guess I'll vote fish, because they're just as bad at this, but I also never got the hang of underwater aiming.

My post disappeared after j2o downtime. I seriously don't feel like reasoning once more why do I hate Floating Suckers, Witches, Helmuts and Tube Turtles.

Im surprised nobody votes witches

Nah, one quick uppercut can take them out.

Not if you're Spaz, which most players are.

I voted for Bee (as expected, most people did). Bee's always fly into me when I rush through the original SP levels, it's the only enemy that gives me random hits, and makes Diamondus the only world where I have to keep my mind with the game in order to succeed flawlessly. :p

Sean: In single player, though?

Only a total noob woud be too scared to use Jazz in standard episodes.

Yeah, lots of people do.

Only a total noob woud be too scared to use Jazz in standard episodes.

Said 'total noob' managed to take advantage of bugs and Spaz skillz to access all areas supposedly only accessible to Jazz using Spaz on 'Tossed Salad'.

Well, I seem to think that the majority of SP levels are designed with Jazz in mind first, and Spaz second. That doesn't mean Jazz is better or anything, but quite a few levels are either a lot harder or plain impossible with Spaz, unless you use the bugs and such that you mention.

There, yes. But you'd be amazed at how handy the MP skill 'RF jumping' is in the later SP levels while playing as Jazz. :D

I've always found Spaz faster to use in the default SP levels. I swear he can literally skip some parts of the levels. Jazz/Lori only has like...one area that they can only reach with copter ears IIRC, which is a c/1up/notsureexactly in one of the last levels. gg. When it comes to actual challenging custom SP projects, that's another story... copter ears can really save you from dying/getting hurt in SP. I haven't seen witches used much, and it's easy to skip the one used in the shareware episode. Just run to the right.

I am completely behind you on this one. Fishes drive me nuts and make me run out of seeker and TNT ammo.

I never got the hang of Jazz RF climbing/jumping :\

It takes me countless of tries too. It's really hard without the double jump, but it does get you to otherwise unreachable places.

Omigosh. The Float Lizard is SOOOOO annoying!!!

If you don't kill 'em right away, they follow you everywhere...

They're a bit annoying, and with too many, the bombs and all can be inconvenient, but if it's just one or two, I find I can stomp them and use them to my advantage

true. I guess I hadn't thought of it that way.

Raven, they're the only one I can't figure out how to shoot relatively easily usually. I was gonna say bees, but, raven.

Also Spaz is a total baller. I've always been and will always be Spaz.

Violet CLM

Well, see, there's your problem. Ravens are trivial with Jazz since they spend a prolonged period of time in precisely the position you can uppercut them.

Oh yeah, good point. Haha. Well, I guess that's a price I've gotta pay. I love Spaz. :)

Edit: Pretty much all other enemies are trivial to me 'cause I can just side-kick them. :D Not that I do, though, I like to shoot everyone so they drop things for me. :)

Float lizards, although mainly because it appears EvilMike's first rule when making SP levels is that there need to be at least 100 float lizards in each level.

Bees. I mean they fly in this odd sinusoidal pattern and because of that they're really hard to shoot, unless you got some toasty flamethrower ammo, then they're a quite smaller problem. Also it doesn't help that they can just GO THROUGH WALLS.
