This is probably the dumbest topic I've ever posted, so why I am I posting this?

There are some important issues concerning behavior while playing online, and certain behaviors can get you banned by people who have the power to do so. As usual, there are no standards for behavior, although it is common knowledge what is acceptable behavior in most cases.

In my opinion, I don't think there's any 'ideal' way to behave, but there are certain things I absoloutely detest.

For instance:

Making judgements without considering all of the facts.
Not considering the general purpose of things.
No mercy.
Exploiting things because you "can".
Bullying around newbies simply because they lack experience.
Not considering the logical implications of what you are doing.

No mercy sucks. Well, the L4D campaign rocks, but yeah, my point. I've tried to make it a point to concede somewhat to people's pleas ("3HK!! 3HK!!!!" "k" "Red score has been set to 3") as it's sometimes just unfair when they have a legitimate reason for complaining.

It does, more than you think. Social engineering can be a hard thing to do :)

One more thing I hate is when people use their playing time as an argument. "LOLZ ME IS PLAY 10 YEARS ME IS BETTER THAN U LOLOLOLOLOLOL"

Playing tests in public servers can get quite annoying. People keep arguing next or "no". Even more annoying, is when people keep spamming next. I understand tests can be hard for some people, but just practice instead of spamming, you'll get somewhere more if you do that instead. Or leave if you're sick of it that much. To be honest, I've started to not care about if people cycle or not. You can play again another time, even better, get the level from your cache so you can play it on your own in SP, and you can quit and/or go to any level you want with jjfly/jjnowall (you can find the level file name in your chatlogger when the level starts). Some people start flaming the other person just because they cycled...it's not a big deal. I can understand it's annoying if they deliberately cheated to there just to cycle, but like I said, just download the level from your cache if it bothers you that much if people cycle (when they're finished with it, not impatient cheating).
I don't play tests online as much as I used to, sometimes I play them online because I like to chat while I play, although I tend to hardly bother with the overplayed easy ones anymore. I don't like muting people that much.
