JDC Season 20

After 6,528 hours (http://www.convertunits.com/dates/from/Aug+29,+2010/to/May+28,+2011) of silence, the long awaited new JDC season is coming to the Jazz2.exe near you on May 28th!

The last JDC season was fun, but not as fun as I or the rest of the crew would like it to be. For one thing (as you probably remember), we've had some trouble with finding hosts for events. Despite the best efforts of the newly hired officials, the problem still persisted. This season, however, JDC will have a dedicated event server (powered by the Zeal network). This means two things:

- No more trouble with finding hosts at the very last minute and EvilMike threatening to destroy JDC forever!

- If you wanted to become an official last time we called for them, but was written off because you couldn't host, this is your chance to ask again. Just to remind you:Anyone can be an official as long as they are reliable, have a good grasp of English, get along with other players, and are at least semi-dedicated. If you fit these criteria, feel free to contact an administrator. We are always looking for new officials willing to help out.If you're interested, leave a reply in this thread or contact me or EvilMike somehow.

Last season had some good things going on, though. Because this will be a exam/summer time season again, we'll most likely make it last about nine weeks, but the rounds will be two weeks long to compensate for people going for holidays and having social lives. We'll also be doing other semi-small changes to make the season fun all around.

And of course, as you can judge from the wonderful little picture I put in the first post, we will need a new logo once again. You all know the drill by now:The image must be 385×130 pixels.
It must not clash with the current colour scheme.
Keep the filesize reasonable - around 100kb is fine.
Include "JDC" in the picture and make it easily readable. All other words are optional.
Preferably have the artwork reflect the competition aspect of JJ2.To submit a logo, post it in this thread.

I'm interested to help. I have the possibility to host except on friday nights. In weekends i can host after midnight although i can't do that in midweek days. My english isn't the best out there though.

hehe true dat Ana, activity counts for the most. Although you have to admit that with winners like SJ, Chiyu, Veg, Dizzy, Thunder, one has to agree that quality wins in the end. If only because all of the great jj2ers want to win JDC at least once in their careers and if they couple their quality with quantity, they win. But true, you can't win without being seriously active through most of the season.

And I wouldn't say that's such a bad thing either. It's your own choice after all. That's the beauty of jdc, compared to duel tourney's, JJ2WC or even the ladder - it allows for the whole community to participate.
I for one will probably do more 2v2's than in the last seaons, and I'll also go for more events than last year.

And yes, events friggin rule. You don't play completely seriously, yet you want to win, which means that you're not nervous and defensive like in CW's, so it's a completely different playing experience - it almost sets you free:) (JDC luft macht frei, if you will:)) Not to mention the sheer scale of the events, where you really do get an incredible amount of players all playing. This is something no other jj2 tourney can achieve. Now I'm not saying JDC is the alfa and omega of jj2, but what I am saying is that, even if we put tradition aside, JDC still offers a different take on JJ2.

That's just a copy of the old ladder logo.

But remember to say: "Wanna duel for JDC?", or you have about 90% chance that if you win, they will refuse to add it to JDC, and if you lose, they will force you to add it.
