I miss seeing "WicKeD TricKs" (Pyromanus' server), hosting his race levels publicly at least once a week. =(
I miss the days where FoR had a few players, rather than one! Turtle, BoarDeR, SkulL, all great players, cool people too. (Much love to CelL)
I miss the days where USA had its own JJ2 scene, with enough to even have their own event servers in JDC, and Euro servers seperate.
I also miss the days I used to splitscreen with my brother when we first found J2O. xP

But one thing I certainly don't miss is not having JJ2+, or not having these Zeal servers up all the time though! Special thanks to you guys who made this happen.

So why would people care about this sort of thread; you probably shouldn't? But if anyone has anything they wanna share, then please do! =o

I miss the days when anybody could host a server. I also really miss the "random levels" servers that would always have cool people with cool levels under cool passwords. Speaking of which I miss people actually giving half a crap about the whole "JCS scene", sure we all took it overly seriously at times but it was plenty of fun, having people constantly try to one up eachother with all sorts of stuff ;-<!>).

I also miss the new-old Battle Server, getting to experience a new blur level every few weeks, and also when J2O's downloads page would be getting like 5 new uploads per day.

I definitely don't miss hotels...

The Vegito Hotel/Pyro's hotel stuff, popular hotels which attracted tons of Dutchies back in 2002-2003 heh. Pyro exploiting bugs nicely, lol. Spybunny, speedy boy & girl who helped/played lots of times. Playing kirb tests/WMs and failing horribly. Fun days :)

I also miss playing tests with SJ, Diz (and Pyro + EM) a couple of years ago. Trying to finish PT2 and racing other tests like Wind Meister 3. Heh :). Beating Yaxtest was still a hell then as well and there was nobody better at tests than our little group basically. <s>Times changed xD.</s>

I miss breaking things in JCS, finding different ways of doing everything wrong. I miss listening to the same song on repeat for DAYS because it was my "inspiration" for a concept level I was making. I miss innovation. Oh and I miss people from the good ol' days who I used to play with on Monolith's Battle Server. Derbu, Admael, Drema... and a whole bunch of people from the community that I never played the game with, but always chatted with.

There's not a single person (except one) who doesn't miss Nerd. Everyone miss new plus update.

I miss ol' good days with nice people. Nowadays everyone is in fight, everyone insults, 90% of people don't behave well etc. I'd like to see at least once all old players in JJ2. 8D, FoR, DM, old CCers, old VSers, old GpWers and old cool clans in a server. I guess it's not possible because of:
1) Server limit <=32
2) They probably can't all make that

hmm lots of things.. i miss when i was young. life wasn't as complicated, i had free time to play this game, I could finish a level in a day or less, knowing most people who played online and they knew me, used to spam the hell out of this forum, #jj2 reg ;), JDC...mostly everything lol. Life's moved on too much since those times to experience them again but I'll take the memories I have :)

I miss the times when playing Queen of Board was actually a fun for me. I just haven't got time back then and now I dont have the patience.
I miss people hosting hotels, mostly because there was a lot of idiots(mostly from poland) and you could have a lot of fun because of them. I also miss it because there were many people who played only because they wanted to talk with someone. You could just sit in a stupid hotel level to about 3 AM.
I miss cant werify, mega lagz, duel for JCS.
It's also possibile that I just miss times, when this game was more fun for me, when I was younger. It could be still a fun, but its not because everyone is obsessed with ladders etc. This game is more about some rankings, less about fun(I remember when I was playing a JDC duel with some guy. That duel was quite unusual because we played with really strange rules - who will fall out from the lake at hotel wolf.j2l will score for the opponent! I lost 5-3, bah. Then I won treasure JDC duel, because I had 140 diamonds and he had got 80, so we decided that I won 14-8).
I miss the times when most people got tricked by alt+f4 thing.
Somehow I miss the times when there was no plus or carrotade. Immortality after getting carrot, random seekholes, cheaters crawling around the servers, "pro" admins using Forest(or whatever was its name). For some reason it was fun.
I miss the times when people were hosting good tests mostly for 1.23 version. Now I can't even disable multiversion at 1.23 server because TSFers can join anyway.
I miss the times when I was dueling with my brother at splitscreen at bbswing probably.
I miss the times when "chat as" option at coolhax was actually working, lol.
I miss that amazement when I saw for the first time a coop server(probably NC one). I was asking everyone how is that possibile?
I miss nabs asking "how to fly with spaz", "how do you wallclimb with jazz", or entering server with nick like "HOWTOCHAT".

Now it's also a fun, but this game get a bit too "official" for me. You could be really happy before the "age of plus" when you saw a five jj2 servers at one time! That was amazing and insane! Now you are scared when Zeal servers are down and you have no idea what to do, so you can't do anything because it doesn't happen often that someone is hosting something nice. Maybe I was just a bit younger, and things that annoyed me back then now makes me laugh, and probably it makes me laugh because now this game is more stable.

... Whatever, it seems that I mostly miss the fun(of course its still fun to play it!) and randomness at this game. And its 3 AM here, not sure why the hell I'm not sleeping yet.

maybe it'll sound like i was an effing no-life, but i don't really give half a crap about that - jj2 and this internet community was, is and will be a part of my childhood memories. in fact, it was probably the first video game i've ever played, right back in '98 on my grandpa's computer (since computers back then here weren't so common and it was basically the only PC in my whole family). i remember all of those things. playing it online on those cool, often overfilled servers hosted by the more "famous" of the jj2 scene like Blur on his new levels, my try at module music to fit it into the game (in fact i think it may have helped me with making music and was a pretty interesting experience with sampling, helpful as I am now a hip hop producer). I remember joining my first, short-lived clan, FH (Fatal Hypovolemia. i can't exactly remember who was there also, Spazzer perhaps, maybe Speeza but i'm not sure, may have messed up with those nicknames as it was 2006/2007 back then, damn time flies fast doesn't it?) with Fjolsvidr (who was later Caffne and Ricerind, yeah I remember), then the clan breaking up, joining Cracco Clan, getting into XLM, the #jj2 and #[tf] irc channels (even though I ended up getting banned in #[tf], but seeing how I behaved those few years ago, if I was an op there now I would ban myself hahah). well ironically also i "met" some people i know from my city first right here in this community, not knowing they were also from Krosno, talk about coincidences. well this game brings a lot of memories, even that i don't play it anymore, i'll probably never forget it. my 5gb jj2 folder is still on my disk, maybe some day i'll give it a try again : )

well as you can see it's hard to forget such... hm, experiences? as a kid I was shy and pretty withdrawn so obviously I spent the majority of my time at home and communities such as this were, let's say, helpful for me. even though by "community standards" I'm probably still a "young boy ;S" (reference #1 haha) I also associate the days I spent just playing jj2 and chatting around on irc as those days where I didn't have to give a shit what was going around as opposed to how my life looks now. well as weird as it would look, it could be a symbol how my life as a younger kid looked like, without stress, just chillin' at home, safe with my parents, you know the deal.
