Many moons ago, there was a conversation on here about the best image format. I was juggling the pros and cons of GIF vs JPG at the time and I can't remember all what we were talking about, but Radium said something that kind of stuck with me for some reason. "Can't we all agree on PNG"

PNG? Who uses PNG? At the time, PNG files didn't even load in Windows image viewer so I figured they were just too obscure. I had to use a 3rd party program just to see them. I thought he was joking.

Well, I just came on here to say Radium is a genius.

This image? Less than 73k.

This is only a 256 color image and if I hadn't known beforehand, I wouldn't have noticed.

But yeah. Radium = awesome. PNG = weapon of choice.

Image type depends on what kind of image. Photos and such should use JPG, drawings like that should use PNG. Simple as that.

Thanks. I was working with different formats today and I see what you mean.

I've been using pngs for years now for almost all of my visual works, so naturally I agree. But I thought this format became widely understood as a standard long ago.

I can be extremely behind on these things at times.
