Weird BASS problem

So, there's this CTF level by Ragnarok: http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/6805/dusk-of-serenity/

It uses a .mo3 file as the music (as suggested by me O+) which requires JJ2+ and BASS. Until recently, it played in-game without any trouble (i.e. exactly as in Modplug). Then I switched to Windows 7 and while it's fine in Modplug, the playback in JJ2/BASS is absolutely broken. Updating BASS didn't do much given how I already had the latest version.

Any ideas?

And here I was thinking you made a typo in 'mp3'. Shame on me.

Works fine for me in XMPlay. How does it break, exactly? Seems weird that it would only do this for you (I assume others have played the level with the music - I can't test it myself at the moment) - I guess Windows 7 is the most likely cause.

Finally determined it: instead of playing the track, it plays the tracks' samples in their order.
