Ever wanted to quickly join a JJ2 server that you see in the serverlist (gip) but felt that .j2i files are too slow and starting JJ2 takes ages?
Introducing the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 URI Launcher. With it you can join JJ2 servers from any website, email or chat conversation. All that's required is a jj2:// link and JJ2 URI Launcher.
Follow the instructions on this page (http://djazz.se/apps/sgip/) on how to install this utility.

Also, zepect ported it to VB6 and made an installer. Check it and the sourcecode for it on his site here: http://zepect.com/JJ2Launcher/

Usage:jj2://password@host:port/?v=version

Example usage:

Zeal Alpha: jj2://95.109.21.11/
My server: jj2://djazz.se/

Try drag these links out to your desktop, and a nice shortcut with the icon will be created.

Tell me what you think of it!

Seems to work! Is there any way for the launcher to check whether or not the server exists, though? Right now, if you give it an IP without a server, JJ2 just sits there trying to connect forever.

Could add that as an option, good idea :)

Today I'm happy to announce that JJ2 Launcher is now easier to install, as zepect has created a Windows installer and ported the code to VB6, so it is now a native Windows program.
Read more about it on his site about it here, and see the sourcecode: http://zepect.com/JJ2Launcher/

I've also linked to it from SGIP: http://djazz.mine.nu/apps/sgip/
My old program is still the same.

Here is a screenshot of the installer:

Enjoy!

Pretty! You should post it to the Epic forums in keeping with my ongoing attempt to remind them we exist/get labeled a spammer for posting about JJ2 stuff.
