What's up with levels that have 0.00 kb (http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/962/-/)?

Hard to say for such an old upload. Maybe the file included was broken, maybe the zip uploaded was broken, maybe it's an error at J2O's end.

Do you have other examples? That would help me in determining whose error this is.

When clicking one of the 0KB files, you get a list of downloads apparently containing some file called region.txt. The downloads listed there (at least the ones I checked) also contain some empty files.
Example: http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/700/-/

J2O doesn't seem to like empty files, either:
Warning: unpack() [function.unpack]: Type a: not enough input, need 20, have 0 in /home/jazzonli/public_html/J2Ov2/includes/class.ModFormats.php on line 257

Warning: unpack() [function.unpack]: Type a: not enough input, need 22, have 0 in /home/jazzonli/public_html/J2Ov2/includes/class.ModFormats.php on line 261

I remember more levels like that, but now I won't be able to tell you cuz I deleted them... One thing that I still remember is this:

When I download THIS (http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/6981/-/) the level has 0KB (although on the website it doesn't appear as 0).

Be a little more patient.

I'm aware of the problem. The problem is that some files went missing from our webspace, presumably during January 2015, thought it is at this point not clear how this happened. Metadata (filename and md5 hash) are still available which will make it easy to put everything together again as long as the original files are available somewhere.

I currently do not have stable internet access. Once I do again, I'll restore files from backups made before that date and most if not all files should be available again. Any files you can supply yourself (like SE did) are greatly appreciated as this helps in making sure everything is restored correctly.

This is a list of all missing files: http://www.jazz2online.com/missing_files.php

Feel free to ignore the unicode-mangled filenames. There is no need to report or tag missing files unless they're not on that list, though all your earlier efforts are appreciated.

I'm aware of the problem.

Just out of curiosity: why does it happen in the first place? And why does it affect only level files? It seems that there are no music or tileset files that after downloading turn out to have 0.00 kb.

That's definitely helpful, there are indeed a lot of levels that are now missing on J2O, but unfortunately the particular download that I'm interested in (and that originally brought me into this thread) is not there, and it's levels are listed in your "not to be found" list :(

I was very attracted by all those fancy tilesets used in Avoidance (http://www.jazz2online.com/downloads/3656/-/) and wanted to check out the levels so badly. Don't you guys store good stuff on your drive or somewhere? You just play the pack and after playing you delete it? It seems quite strange to me, I always tend to store goodies.

I have restored most of the files, including all xlm*.j2l levels.

A few are still missing (again, http://www.jazz2online.com/missing_files.php), though for some of those it's just a matter of their file names being mangled and they actually download fine in their respective zip files. If anyone has JUT.j2l, JCS.ini, LEVEL0.000, MiniGolf.j2l or Readme.txt and they match the hash as listed on that page, I'd be grateful if you could send them to me so I can restore them.

Sick! I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one to appreciate that.
(i was very disappointed with the avoidance lvls though, it wasn't what i expected at all :D )
