long time ago Dobermann Studios had worked on Jazz on the Windows Phone platform, I knew he stopped this, but what I found on Play Store today, Jazz just under another title, "Galactic Rabbit", which is still working and contains only the first episode.
I hope the rest of the episodes will appear at the official launch

"unlike any other"

ETA: It includes Holidaius too, after the end credits, but only if you find and shoot a secret level sign hidden in Diamondus. I don't remember anymore whether it's the same engine as the last time Dobermann did this, but it plays pretty well, for all that the level designs are obviously changed. You should try out the bonus gems if you can, they're kind of cute.

Is this just OpenJazz on Android, or is it actually a fresh port of Jazz 1?

Also, which episodes? Just 1 and Xmas?

It's not OpenJazz. I don't remember Dobermann's Windows Phone port in enough detail to say whether this is exactly the same or whether it's really "fresh."

1 and HH94, yes.

Ah, okay. Still, pretty cool to have this.

is still in the work, probably will add the rest of the episodes. Dopermann has only worked in the past for the Windows Phone version that was shut down for Epic Games. Open Jazz was made by Alister Thomson and launched on various platforms, you can also see his site : http://www.alister.eu/jazz/oj/about.php

Because last time Dobermann tried this, he called it Jazz Jackrabbit and Epic Games declined to license it to him and subsequently shut him down. He's trying to avoid Epic taking this game off the store too, since it's actually monetized (there's a constant ad on the bottom of the screen and a fullscreen ad every time you beat a level).

It doesn't support gamepads for the time being. My Logitech F310 works with Metal Slug 3 and Another World without any tweak on Android.
